Fantasy Football Podcast for Week 15/16

I like it. I've got Brandon Lafell versus the Jets as my start of the week this week. I went through a bunch of guys, but I think that this is actually going to be, I don't think there's anybody doubting New England is going to beat the Jets. Something on the Lafell bandwagon. But I think Lafell is going to do it this week, and I think that when you have these two teams match up, it's interdivisional. It's normally heated, and I don't think that, I don't think Belichick's going to take his foot off the gas for a little bit. Oh, no, not Belichick. Not against these guys.

Uh, uh, for tight end, I'm really scratching here for this one. This is, I didn't expect this. I'm going with Brent Selleck. Uh, interesting. He, part of it is just the matchup of Washington is so bad against tight ends. They're 30th. Now they have two tight ends. Yeah. So, but I, you like Selleck more because he's going to be on the, he's on the field a little bit more because he's the blocker. Uh, and the, they got him a little bit.

more involved last week. I think you had four catches for, I don't remember the yardage off the top of my head. But I, I, if, you know, I'm reaching for a tight end who I think has the ability to put up a touchdown this week, but I like Brent Selleck this week. Okay, I'm going to go with Martellus Bennett, and this is simply opportunity. He's the checkdown for Chicago. King, King DGAF is what we're calling him around the week. Yeah, and Cutler is just going to be.

destroyed by that defensive front line of Detroit. Oh, yeah. I hope you stashed the Detroit Lions. Yeah, if you stash the Detroit D for your playoff game, you're going to be in great shape. So then I'm going to just jump in and give you my defense real quick. I'm going to grab the Giants defense. I'm going to keep streaming them. Yeah, against St. Louis. The St. Louis offense has a cap on what they can score. I mean, you've got Sean Hill running or throwing the ball, and you've got Tray Mason and a team that just...

They're just not explosive at all. And the Giants are, they are sackmasters right now. They had a huge week last week. I think eight sacks, something like that? Yeah. And I'm going with Green Bay against Tampa Bay. I went with them because they were a defense who I like this week, and they were also only 30% owned. So I was trying to find a defense who I think almost everybody should be able to grab. I wasn't really sure where to put this in the show.

I just wanted to run through defenses who I really like because we're at that time of the year where you've got to make the right stream. If you don't have a top tier like a Seahawks, oh man, I wish I had the Seahawks versus Ryan Lindley. Oh, my goodness. That's going to be turnovers. But defenses who I like, this is not necessarily the order, but these are just guys who I like Buffalo Bills, the Eagles.

The Lions, the Patriots, the Ravens, and the Packers are, that's six defenses who I really, I would feel comfortable starting any of those six in my championship game. How do you feel about the Dolphins? I like them. They're taking them Minnesota, is that right? Yeah, in Miami. Oh, yeah. But they've been really bad as a defense. They were like one of the top defenses in the league. Right. First, 11, 12 weeks of the season, but they put up three negative scores in our league in the last four.

Going into the half, they were actually holding the Patriots in check. And then there was the whatever the backup running back, dropped the wide open touchdown. And it just momentum really shifted. But they were handling the Patriots for a good while. So I would think they should not have a problem handling Teddy Bridgewater at home. Yeah.

Yeah, for sure. So hopefully those starts help you either in your daily leagues, which anybody can be playing right now or in your championship game. And let's move it on. The fantasy footballers versus the world. Oh, let's play. Yeah. So this is everybody's favorite section. Sorry, I just jumped in. I was so excited to introduce the section. You take it. You know. This is a section where we go in and we look at some start-sick questions.

some things that might apply to your fantasy league, and we also pull them up on fantasy pros.com, their expert rankings, and we see which direction the experts lean and whether we match with their decisions. And then you go with whoever you want. Yes. But, yeah, that's kind of fun. So the first question we have here is DeAndre Hopkins or Isaiah Crowell. You cannot let that name go by without a call on like a... And I grabbed this one because Hopkins...

will be going into the matchup with the Ravens with their fourth quarterback? Yeah, I think both of these guys have those variables, right? And Crowell, can Johnny Mansell be that bad again and limit what Crowell can do? Both facing tough defenses. And so Hopkins says the Ravens. The Ravens secondary is bad, but do they have a quarterback and get them to the ball?

So in this particular instance, I think I would have the running back bias and go with the guy who I know the ball is actually going to get in his hands 10 or 15 times instead of, I don't know if Thad Lewis can get. Yeah, I agree with you. Do we know if Andre Johnson's playing?

I think what I've heard is he's going to be back. Yes. Yeah, I'll lean Crowell's side, so let's see what Fantasy Pros. The experts seem to think on this one, and it's really close. They actually have DeAndre Hopkins 53% to Crowell's 47%. So that's almost a pick-um. Obviously, if you're in a PPR league, Crowell does not catch a lot of passes, so you're going to go Hopkins direction. That's very interesting to me because that's an extreme jump off of the Crowell ship. But, yeah.

People were, including myself, I still really like him. I think part of that's just facing a defense that's going to, at home, Carolina is going to stack the box against the run. It's understandable. So here's a good question. Justin Forsett, who takes on Houston or Jeremy Hill, who faces one of the top 10 run defenses in the league, the Denver Broncos. Forcette had a bad week. Hill had a huge week, so do you chase the points? Oh, man.

If I'm in this particular instance, I think I go with Forset. And that hurts me to say because I'm Jeremy Hill, number one guy. I think Hill's going to get... A big question is, you have the Bungles. You know, they're probably going to screw it up where they... Because they already figured out that if they ride Jeremy Hill, that they win. So why would they do that?

And then they're like, oh, no, let's have Andy Dalton throw the ball 50 times and then lose. Well, this could be, it really is going to depend, too, on how the Broncos come out. Are they going to come out running as a low-scoring game? Or, you know, it has playoff implications for both teams. So for me, I'm actually going to lean the Jeremy Hillside. Ooh, I know. Interesting. It's crazy. I think both guys are okay. Both guys have downside more than upside this week. But because of just.

Well, I think Forset is... Oh, man, this is tough now that... Now I'm starting to backtrack a little bit. Because the Houston offense, I'm not expecting good... Although, I don't know. This could be... This could be the Aaron Foster domination. Yeah, I'm going to stick with Hill. All right. Who do you got? I'm going with Forset. Okay, so it's actually 80-20 to Forset. So most people are expecting Hill to struggle against Denver. So I hope so. That's a bias.

statement. Julius Thomas or Jarvis Landry. This is a no-brainer for me. Really? It is. All right. Do we tell you who that is? Yeah, I want to hear what your no-brainer is. My no-brainer is Jarvis Landry. He is a PBR machine right now, and Julius Thomas is as untrustworthy a player as you can put on the field. Okay. So that's purely the only reason. I don't think Landry is going to explode, and Thomas could catch a couple touchdowns.

But he's been untrustworthy. And Landry's caught six or more balls for like eight straight weeks. That's why I put this one in here. I really liked how it was a floor versus ceiling. Totally agree. Julius Thomas has the higher ceiling. And so what do you, I guess this would depend on your team. How is your team built? And who's your opponent team? That's worth bringing up as just the general fantasy thing here is one thing that players I don't think do enough of, or at least I didn't do when I was an early fantasy player, is...

look at what you need from a position and don't just, not even just before the week, but as the week progresses, because you have the ability sometimes to see how your team is doing on Thursday night on Sunday morning before you get Sunday afternoon, Sunday evening, Monday night games. So if you have the ability to make this decision, an example for this.

case would be okay i'm i'm in a matchup and i need something safe jarvis landry's who i want to start if i need to be safe so if i get off to a good start both these guys have a later game maybe i maybe i score a bunch of points on thursday night right well then landry's going to be that start because i can't risk a zero or a low score but if it's the other way around if i get off to a slow start i need to gain points back star julius thomas yeah that's very valid so the the question for this is i would i if it's if i have to pick

Out of these two, I'm going to go with Landry because I like, I think his floor is very high, especially if you're in any kind of PPR, half-PPR. His floor is going to be seven or eight points from a guy who's likely your flex. So I would just take the safety of that for my championship week. Yeah, yeah, that's a tough decision. And the experts in a standard league have Julius Thomas at the top of that list because of...

potential for touchdown it's 5941 you move over into ppr and it turns into 75 25 landry so read your league both guys are interesting and it just depends on what you need so uh the next one we're going to go with charles big bird johnson or nasty nate washington johnson is taking on the dolphins and washington has the jaguas i'm this is uh

I'm going to go with Nate Washington. But I still see this very similar to the last question. I think Charles Johnson has the higher ceiling, and I think Nate Washington's much, much safer. Johnson is going up against a pretty good defense in the Dolphins in Miami. He has the higher potential to score to me, but I think Nate Washington is a better play. I'm going to lean with – I think I'm going to go with Charles Johnson. I'm just going to ride that heat. You don't know. I just pulled it up. You don't know what the percentage is? 50-50.

Wow. An exact 50-50 splits. That's how you pull the start sit questions. There you go. And if you jump over into PPR League, Nate Washington is significantly higher. 79 to 30 or 7921. But 50-50 in a standard league, so well done. The last question we have here is a tight-in question, and I already know the answer to this one for me, too. It's Jordan Cameron or Michael Rivera. For me, it's Michael Rivera all the way to the bank. The reason I would go with Rivera is because he...

is the target monster for Derek Carr. But how accurate is he going to be with that Bill's pass rush in his face? Yeah, I don't really like either guy as a dependable option this week, but I lean Rivera's way just because of, again, Cameron, Cameron's like Thomas. Coming off an injury, hasn't been very involved. And I would lean, I'll go Rivera just because I've lost so much faith in football.

And Johnny football. Johnny College football? Man. That's his nickname. So what do we got? 55, 45. Rivera. Rivera. So yeah. Pretty fun. So that wraps it up for fantasy footballers versus the world.
