Week 9 Matchups + In-or-Out, The Fourthiest!

With the new quarterback, with the rookie quarterback. I'm going to listen because I want to not listen. It's just about the short throws. It's about that Deshaun Hamilton, he's a great route runner, but he gets open close to the line of scrimmage. And similar to the thinking of like, okay, a tight end is the release valve for a young inexperienced quarterback. I think Deshaun Hamilton might be able to fill that role. Do you want to put Trey Quinn on your bench right now?

Because no, right? And wouldn't that be an identical situation? Like, you know, Haskins comes in. This, this just, I would not want to put those guys in. I see what you're saying. But I feel like even if he gets 10 targets, he's going to end up with, best case would be like seven for 40. That's, that's the world I see for this. Especially coming off the goose. I just don't, I personally disagree with the idea of rostering and myself.

There's certain players I feel like we love and we don't know how to quit. Kenya Drake was always that guy. I think Deshawn's on Mike's list. Mike's got a Deshaun tattoo somewhere. But he is a great rounder. And Jason update, not seeing anything about him missing or being limited. Oh, Royce. Fantastic. Nick Chubb is always in your lineup. Yep. Beckham, you've got to play him. Even though it's been a rough year for Adele back home, I think it's, you know, he's got to be out there on your roster. I'm going to, I'm going to, I get it.

He's Odell. He's, to me, gotten to the point where I'm going to consider the options I have on my team. If I've got great options, I would. What about Deshawn Hamilton? Yes, smash play. You know, this isn't going to be an easy matchup for Odell Beckham. And so, you know, what is he done this year that said, yeah, you just must start him? Look, I know he's super talented and he's got a career that says, yes, you must start him. But at some point in time,

You have to be willing to say, you know, I like my other options better. I'm not talking about like, hey, throw Danny Amandola in there. O'Dell Beckham's not going to win you a week anymore with Baker and in Cleveland. He's not going to do it. That's the adjustment you have to make mentally. Yeah, it's, it's gross. Was that disagreement, Mike? I don't think he can win you a week. They give him screen plays. To label him, he'll never win you a week the rest of the season, I think is.

a bit bold, but... Yeah, because he can break up in this game. This week, no, I mean, he'll see a lot of Chris Harris. Harris is great. Chris Harris Jr. has been, you know, really difficult for a lot of players this year. Beckham is single digits in four of the last five games. In the one game where he had 11 targets, it was 13 fantasy points.

Yeah, I mean, and if you remember, his big game in week two was basically one play. He just happened to take that whatever was like a 80, 90 yard touchdown. Outside of two weeks this year, he has not been in the top 40 at wide receiver. And now he's Chris Harris? Like, there was a point. We're getting name trapped. We are getting named trapped. And there's a point where you thought you could anchor your wide receiver core in fantasy with him. I'm just saying he's not an anchor. He can be, he's a start.

He's not an anchor. And in Jason, you're saying maybe he's not even a start on certain weeks. On certain weeks. I mean, you've got to have the right roster, right? Because it's going to be really, really tough to bench him and get it wrong. So keep trade cut. Odell Beckham Jr. trade deadline coming up. Trade, trade, trade. That's my world. I think it's, that's not to say that it's not going to get better. I don't expect him to only have, you know, two out of nine games that percentage good going forward. But you can still trade Odell.

His name is as big as it gets. You can still right now trade Odell Beckham to someone for really good options. Rest the season, Robert Woods, Odell Beckham, Jr. I like posing questions that are difficult. You went too far down. I think I would, I think, you know, Robert Woods has been disappointing. And so I would stick with the big name. I think you can get more. You can go out of trade. Right, juju is a great option. I would rather.

You'd rather have juju than Beckham? I think at this point I would rather have juju than Beckham. I think you can go out and get someone like Keenan Allen. I think. I don't know. No. I don't know about that. I'll bet you go try it in your league. Let me just say this. Would you rather have Keenan than O'Dow? Yes. Okay. So if you've got O'Dell, go just make a trade and you'll probably get it turned down. But there will be leagues where that's accepted because Keenan has been disappointing.

People are like, oh, man, he's been disappointing. I can get O'Dell Beckham. What is, wow. Well, that was the opponent, man. That's, we throw shade on all your opponents, fuck, clan. All right. I bet they have the same haircut as, uh, as, uh, Dan and Allen. Yeah. As what's his name? Yeah, as a good old what's his name. Ah, we're so, so rude sometimes. Packers, seven and one, chargers three and five.

This game is in Los Angeles. You know what? Packers are three and a half point favorites. I'm doubling down this week. Andy's almost upset of the week. I actually feel really confident in this play. I feel confident in that one. This is a get right game for the Chargers. Ken Wisenhunt's gone. They've been on the razor's edge of victory a few times. They got bailed out last week, I know, against Chicago. I think at home against the Packers, I think they can get it done.

I, this is also me thinking Devonzi Adams probably not going to be out there. But Aaron Rogers, he's been great, 10 touchdowns in the last three games, fantasy and football rejoice. Yeah, he's looked like the real Aaron Rogers of yesteryear. And it's been, it's been great to watch. Aaron Jones, I think, has helped open things up for him, not only just by being a great running back, but having a.

another really strong weapon in the receiving game, as we've seen. I mean, two weeks ago, Aaron Jones had a great week pretty much every week. Two weeks ago was when he dropped that sure touchdown, wide open touchdown. I mean, you know, things could be even better for Aaron Jones, who has to be seen as, you know, a top six running back rest of season. Especially this matchup here against the charges. Aaron Jones is going to.

Feast. I like the running backs in both matchups. And I know that Melvin Gordon, you gave confidence last week. Andy is the start of the week. He got a touchdown against the Bears. I actually think he has a pretty good game this week as well. I mean, both of these teams have been pretty good against the pass and pretty bad against the run. That's the way that I've seen them on the season. Well, and Green Bay is softening.

I mean, over the last month, Green Bay's secondary has allowed the fourth most wide receiver fantasy points. I think Keenan Allen and Mike Williams can have a nice game at home in this one. Philip Rivers is throwing the ball 38 times a game. I don't know how that changes with Wizz and Hunt's departure, but they're, you know, this Green Bay, the way they started the year against the fantasy wide receivers is not carried on in the last few weeks. And say the way that Green Bay played against the run. It's true. Three of the last four weeks, they've actually been.

very stout and stingy giving up fantasy points to the running back. They were just so putrid during the first month of the season that their ranking. Yeah, it's funny. They've kind of swung the pendulum. I don't know if that was a scheme shift because they were getting gashed so much on the ground. But it could also be a matchup thing. Obviously last week at Kansas City, you know, Kansas City is just not really utilizing the running backs well. Two weeks before that was Detroit. Yeah, but Dallas is in this run.

Right. Dallas is, they did have a good game against Zique, which was surprising. What do you do? Now, I have Hunter Henry's my start of the week. I think you can put him out there. Jimmy Graham on the other side. Are you playing Jimmy, if you have to? If you have to. Yeah, I mean, he's, sure. Jimmy or Durhamfels? Jimmy. I would rather have the targets than the, I mean, both of them have the chance to get a touchdown. Greg Olson or Jimmy Graham, Mike.

Olson. You like Olson this week? I was thinking I might play fells over Jimmy Graham. Yeah, I mean, maybe. But Greg Olson, Jono Smith, obviously those are our two starts of the week. We play both those guys over Jimmy Graham. Patriots 8 now taking on the Ravens. This is an exciting game and it's Sunday night football. Patriots three point favorites. It's probably something they're not used to. 45 point over under games in Baltimore. Implied point total of 24 for the Patriots, 21 for the Ravens.

Lamar Jackson. A lot of everybody who wants to know, whether it's on social media, the questions you guys send us. Do you play Lamar Jackson? I mean, can you? Yeah. What's the ceiling? What's the floor for him? You definitely can play him. His floor is helped by the rushing capabilities. And I realize that the Patriots are going to be able to scheme the way that other teams have not been able to. And they're going to take away his strengths.

That being said, this is coming off of a buy week for Harbaugh, a lot of extra time to prepare for this game, and this is a game that is in Baltimore. I think Lamar Jackson could end up having a really good game. Now, you don't project that because it's, I mean, he's going to throw picks, right? I mean, I think the Patriots, I'll have to look this up from memory, but I believe they have 17,000.

interception so far this year. That is, uh, give or take one. Yeah. Right. It's from memory, right? You look at Josh Allen this year, right? Every, he didn't have a, his floor has been 20 fantasy points pretty much, except for when he played the Patriots. He was in single digits against the Patriots. Josh Allen can run, not like Lamar Jackson can run, but, uh, you know, there, there's only so much you can do against Lamar Jackson. He's going to escape. And if that secondary continues to provide limited options,

You know, he goes one read covered, two read covered, three read covered. Lamar has a backup plan. And it's his, his legs. It's real. I mean, this is probably the toughest player this. He is. And yeah, there is a very, there's a big divide in fantasy, in the industry, people giving their advice. Jason, you're, you lean more on. You should play him if you've got him. Yeah, I do lean more on the, it's, it's, he's going to be okay. The more that I've looked into the matchup.

I think he is... I'm freaked out. I think he is an otherworldly talent that's being utilized the right way, and it's a tough matchup, but that's... Every matchup, you know, well, not every matchup. I mean, Dolvin's Bengals, but, you know, NFL teams are tough. What can you live with as a fantasy owner? That's part of it. You know, I'd play Matthew Stafford over Lamar Jackson. Oh, me too. But when you get into the Derek Carr category, which I know the same matchup, we like him. I like him for the week. A lot, but...

confidence-wise, do you want to go down with your, you know, number one guy? Right. Or do you want to go down with Derek Carr? Because that doesn't feel so good. Now, if we're talking the freaked outside, Mike, you know, you're on the freaked outside. Everyone has been trashed against New England. And they, for valid reasons, the pass rush, the secondary, just look unbelievable. Look at the opponents that Lamar Jackson has faced and you go, okay, you started the year hot because it was Miami and Arizona and Kansas City.

But the other three good matchups he's had, Seattle's been trashed, Cincinnati's been trash, and Cleveland has been, you know, the biggest disappointing team out there. They played against Pittsburgh three weeks ago, and he was the quarterback 17. So it's like, so that's more of what I expect from Lamar Jackson. You're talking multiple turnovers. Markies Brown, we were talking about him playing, not practicing again today.

Markies Brown would really, really help. If you actually have a super dynamic wide receiver out there that the defense has to worry about, I'm telling you, man, I have my concerns for Lamar. He's going to run for 80 yards. But what if he throws for 100 and he turns the ball over three times, then you're really, really disappointed? What do you do with any of the offensive options for Baltimore? I mean, Marquis Brown means more to Lamar Jackson.

than he does to your fantasy team this week, right? Because you're not expecting... I mean, the Patriot's defense is historically the best defense through this point in the season that has ever been. They're number one against quarterback, running back wide receiver. Oh, but only number two against tight end. That's right. I'm giving up 4.6 points a game. So even the Mark Andrews confidence, the Mark Ingram confidence, is there any of that? And are you actively pivoting? Like, would you start Jonas Smith over...

Mark Andrews in this match. I would not. I don't think I would. The target shares so high for Mark Andrews. I was going to ask the same question with Jimmy Graham. I mean, the difference for pivoting your positional players and the quarterback, it's much easier to pivot your quarterback. Like Gardner, Derek Carr, I mean, these guys might be on the waiver wire, but a better option for the running back of the tight end is not available on your waiver wire. That's the only reason why we're talking about pivoting.

All right, the Baltimore defensive line ranks 29th in the league and sack percentage. Tom Brady's going to have an opportunity to sit back there and provide fantasy points to somebody. I know Julian Edelman's in your lineup, but beyond Edelman, you know, Ceno's second game with the team, Philip Dorset, you know, he needs a play. Dorset needs to score. So is it Edelman and no one else? In the wide receivers? Correct. I think it's for me. To me, I think it's Edelman and Dorset. Dorset has been.
