Papa Josh flexes fifteen pounds through crackling old bones

The opening cuts to the live three-person producer row, where Papa Josh raises an arm. The desk first mistakes the movement for pulling a train or 18-wheeler horn, then acknowledges the bicep, says he curls fifteen pounds, and immediately ruins the compliment by claiming his old bones can be heard cracking.

moment

FootClan Friday awards Nadine Rossbach $100

The year-round Friday supporter ritual selects Nadine Rossbach for a $100 FantasyChamps gift card and thanks her for supporting the show through join-the-foot membership.

moment

FINE changes diagnosis with every inflection

Raheem Mostert's claim that he is fine arrives in quotation marks. The hosts decide the word needs capitals, demonstrate an ominous 'I'm fine' and a genuinely reassuring one, and say air quotes make the statement sound like the injured player performed the punctuation himself.

moment

Andy plays dad and returns with a clean ankle X-ray

Andy thanks Mike and Jason for covering the prior episode, explains that he had to play dad for his eleven-year-old, and says the X-rays showed no broken ankle. The desk first checks whether the staff believed he was really the father, then resumes the Rhamondre debate and teases him for losing his start-of-the-week pick while away.

moment

Al's Romandre entry loses the nickname sweepstakes

After Andy reluctantly chooses Steven's Season over the prior alternatives, Al enters the Rhamondre Stevenson sweepstakes from the live booth. He tries Romandre, Remandre, and Romandre again; the desk keeps correcting the delivery, rejects it amid too many existing man puns, reports that listeners preferred Steven's Season, and says Josh will not be asked.

moment

The Dump Truck drop gains one second per visit

Leonard Fournette is introduced as the Dump Truck after a ten-catch game, and the familiar musical cue plays. The hosts predict that the soundboard clip will become one second longer every time until the entire song eventually arrives.

moment

DJ Dallas's profile photo melts the camera

The hosts inspect DJ Dallas's profile picture on their own screens and describe crazy eyes so intense that the camera melted, the stare touches the soul, and viewers should surrender their money. They debate whether a rat startled him, call his hands blades, and promise to tweet the image. Targeted published video never displays the photo.

moment

An Al-sourced Three Stooges joke explains itself

The desk imagines Kansas City's three wide receivers colliding in the middle of the field like the Three Stooges. A related cameraman joke fails to land with Jason; once its source is revealed as Al, the hosts say that explains everything.

moment

Mike's cruise ship pulls up outside the desert studio

The hosts interrupt Dallas-Philadelphia analysis because they report hearing a cruise ship pull up outside the studio. Mike says he planned the vessel as his ride, the desk notes how expensive it is to dock one in the desert, hears it again, and wishes Mike luck on his journey. Video remains on the ordinary desk and shows no ship or nautical graphic.

moment

Papa Josh takes Pollard over Taysom despite fanboy status

Tony Pollard is compared with Taysom Hill as a boom-or-nothing flex. The desk asks Papa Josh to break the tie, warns against consulting the Taysom Hill fanboy, and Josh directly chooses Pollard anyway.

moment

Andy completes Fantasy Faceoff as four-fingered Cartoon Man

Andy loses the prior Fantasy Faceoff to Mike by two points, while Jason's winning lineup came from his League of Record starters. Al is described shuffling eagerly in Deucers Alley and is asked to spin. The visible produced Wheel lands on the blue CARTOON MAN wedge. Andy removes his cap, installs enormous ears, pulls on huge white gloves with three fingers and a thumb each, cannot use the keyboard or mouse pad, drinks awkwardly from a red cup, asks Mike to close the segment, and remains in costume through the episode goodbye.

summary

Episode notes

Complete published-video review shows Mike, Jason, and Andy live at the main desk throughout. The standard green opening briefly contains a generic black bear, but nothing identifies it as Jay Griz; no cardboard bear, fourth host, Jay image, Jay cue, or Jay dialogue appears. No Listener League or Megalabowl detail occurs. The opening names Judge Giamatti, Al Borland, and Papa Josh, and a direct Deucers Alley shot reveals Brooks, Jeremy, and Josh at the three-person production row. Papa Josh flexes on camera, which the desk reads first as a train-horn gesture, then as fifteen-pound curls and finally crackling old bones. FootClan Friday gives Nadine Rossbach a $100 FantasyChamps gift card. The title's FINE premise becomes a language bit: the same quoted word reverses meaning with vocal inflection, while air quotes make reassurance sound ominous. Andy says his prior-day absence was spent playing dad, obtaining X-rays for his eleven-year-old, and learning the ankle was not broken. He returns to judge the Rhamondre Stevenson nickname contest. Al contributes Romandre/Remandre from the booth; the desk rejects every delivery, says too many man puns exist, accepts Steven's Season as least bad, and declines to ask Josh. Leonard Fournette's Dump Truck returns with its musical cue, which the hosts predict will grow one second at a time until it contains the whole song. The desk says DJ Dallas's intense profile photo melted its camera, reaches the soul, may feature a startled rat, and gives him blade hands; targeted video never shows the photo. Matthew Betz is explicitly the injury expert, whose Friday-afternoon Injury Blitz incorporates practice news after the morning show records. Brooks answers an off-camera T. Higgins trap check, and a later Three Stooges/cameraman joke is dismissed once its Al origin is revealed. The most film-ready tangent begins when the hosts report hearing a cruise ship outside the desert studio. Mike claims it as his expensive ride; video shows only the desk, not a ship. Papa Josh later takes Tony Pollard over Taysom Hill despite being called a Taysom fanboy. Finally, Andy's two-point Fantasy Faceoff loss to Mike requires the Wheel of Shame. The visible wheel lands on the blue CARTOON MAN wedge. Andy removes his cap, adds enormous ears and huge white four-digit gloves, struggles with his keyboard and mouse pad, drinks from a red cup, and remains punished through the close. Jason's prior Faceoff win came from betting on his League of Record starters, but no League of Record result or title is given.

Another prime time. We got to get more. More primetime Broncos. Yeah, we do. And because they're. Limited. Los Angeles, three and two, the Chargers at home. It seems that the NFL also thought that the Denver Broncos with Russell Wilson were going to be very fun and good. That's a very fair point. The Draft King Sportsbook line, Chargers minus four and a half at home. The over under is 45 and a half. And look, pretty consequential game. Chargers could go to four and two here. and be up at the top of the division with the Chiefs. Broncos would be towards the bottom with the Raiders, or could even these teams up at three and three and keep it wide open for the wild card. It is a massively important game for these two teams in prime time. So you know that this Denver defense, which has been great, is going to be up for this game. They are going to, I mean, it's a tough matchup for them against the Chargers office, but I believe you're going to get the best Broncos defense, you know, that.

53:58 ↗

They're all human beings, and sometimes there's more motivation to play. There's more of a chip on a shoulder. That's why you have these divisional games that sometimes are just slug fest, disappointing for fantasy, because the defense just steps it up and they go at 100% the whole time. So let's respond to that. Justin Herbert, Austin Echler, Mike Williams, Gerald Everett. You know, he's had some good games at the tight-in position, had some bad ones, including last week. Are you tempering expectations for these offensive pieces? Like, would you pivot away from Herbert because of your thoughts on the Denver defense? I don't think you have an option. When you've got someone like Herbert, even Mike Williams, who that's the guy I'm the most scared about, is Mike Williams. You've got Patrick Sertain who's been shutting guys down right now on the season. The Broncos are number one against wide receivers. So it's a tough, it's just a tough matchup. Sertane in the membrane. You know.

54:53 ↗

I liked it more than I should. Herbert, you don't have another option on your team to pivot to. I doubt that you do with Mike Williams either, but I guess it's possible with Mike Williams. You can't pivot off of Mike Williams. No. No chance. No. Wide receiver 10 on the year, the number one target, a touchdown threat, at home favorites. I understand it because, like, well, Pittman, really bad game, but the way that Mike Williams is playing with this team, I. would still put him in. You're more scared because you actually have him and you're trying to math out that fantasy situation for your team. I'm saying that there are other options. You know, look, Gabe Davis was, if you weren't in best ball, if you were in a home league and you had Gabe Davis and those two guys are in your last decision-making spot. You would go Gabe Davis? I would play Gabe Davis over Mike Williams without hesitation. I think that one's close. Mike, what do you think? They are back-to-back in my rankings. There you go.

55:53 ↗

Who do you have higher, Gabe? Mike Williams is one spot higher as of right now. But that I understand, wanting to get Gabe in, get in on that 54-point game. Yeah, makes sense. This one is pretty, it's up there, though, 45 and a half points. We'll see what happens. Echler's been amazing. Yes, he has. We have not had amazing from Josh Palmer in the absence of Keenan Allen. You know, I'd be more excited about this offense as a whole of Keenan could get back out there. But if Keenan's not out there, I think Everett, you know, you could take a shot with Gerald Everett. Yeah, the Broncos, they shut everything down, but currently 16th against fantasy tight ends. Last week sucked. But I think that, I think Everett is still in play. Cortland Sutton, currently the wide receiver 14 on the year, averaging nine targets a game. You have to play him, right? Yes, you do. And it's a great matchup for him. Melvin Gordon. Now, Mike has him as his start of the week.

56:46 ↗

I am very, very nervous about Melvin Gordon. Because of just the timeshare? Because of a number of factors. I don't. I think he looks to me like he's taken a small step back from just his on-the-field ability. I think that this team will activate and use Latavius Murray. And I think that the injury is a concern. He has two injuries right now, including a rib injury that popped up midweek. And so I do have a little bit of a worry there where, you know, he's fumbled, the ribs, Mike Boone was good in the passing game, Latavius will be active. So I'm just a little more nervous than some other folks. I mean, I know I took a little lay of the land on Melvin Gordon and the sentiment was, okay, he's going to be a top 15 guy rest of the year. I don't know if I agree with that. So I guess my nerves are just a little bit, you know. Sure. Yeah, I don't know where I would put him rest of season, but this matchup.

57:41 ↗

against the team that is dead last currently against fantasy running backs. I get it. You got to put him in there. Do you have full confidence, Jason, in Melvin Gordon this week? I have enough. Russ is not good. You've got to run the ball. Yeah, I have enough confidence to start him. I do think he gets the workload, and I think the matchup is great. The question is whether or not he'll have enough scoring opportunities if Russell Wilson can just do something. Just move the ball and be decent. Otherwise, yeah. Okay. anybody else on that offense you want to mess around with. The matchup is good enough where if you want to throw Jerry Judy in there, you know, you've got T. Higgins, you're worried about that or you lost Tyler Lockett. You know, Jerry Judy has not been great. He's been okay. He's had a couple of decent games. And this matchup is one you could throw him in there. Would you play Tony Pollard, Flex running back or whatever, Flex Position, or Mike Boone? Pollard. I think I'd, I think I'd play.

58:42 ↗

Hollard because Boone has been on the injury report as well. Okay. What about Cam Acres? No further questions at this time. Thank you, Andy. I asked you, Jason. You didn't say no questions. Oh, dang it. Cam Acres. I would play Mike Boone over Cam Acres. That's the kind of. Yeah, I'll go Cam Acres. All right. Jonathan Taylor practicing again today. One more injury update for you, waiting to see if it's limited or full, but it's a good sign that Jonathan Taylor will give it a go this weekend. I'm certainly crossing my fingers and hoping he does. A reminder, Sunday live, one hour before kickoff. Mike will be over there at ballerslive.com. It's time for the faceoff, and unfortunately, my shame again. Fantasy faceoff, presented by Draft Kings. You know, I don't like it when I see Al Borland kind of shuffling over there in the corner of Deucer's Alley, where he's just getting, he's so excited. You can tell he's got a pep in his step.

59:47 ↗

Yeah, right, yeah. Because he knows I'm spinning the wheel. I lost to Mike by two points. Yes. Last week, revenge, I guess, for the early matchup when I barely topped you. So I've got to spin the wheel. Jason took it home last week in a big way. He bet on his starters from his League of Record team and they worked out. So before we give you our fantasy face-off draft kings lineups for this upcoming week six, I've got to spin it. of shame well go ahead and spin that wheel for me al as you eagerly await my demise all right we got uh rainy day oh there's a jo dirt one yarmatey what in the world flower power what in the world is cartoon man we're landed on oh look at that well let's just say you want to pull your lineup up right now get it nice and big so that you can see that without maybe using your hands

60:51 ↗

Oh, I love the ears. So he's got some big old ears. Oh, boy. Big old ears and the big old hands. Oh, you're not using your keyboard. You're not using your keyboard. Listen. This is a great one. Oh, this one's pretty funny. Whoever's coming up with these creative ideas. I got to give you credit. Well, let's get into it, gentlemen. We have another week of shame on the line. I'm going to kick it off. Because I haven't been kicking it off and it hasn't been working. I've got to have the three-game streak now. Yeah. That's got to be a record. I'm going with Josh Allen as my quarterback in this match. I'm going with Josh Allen as my quarterback. I am worried that we are going to have the exact same lineups. I just feel like it's so obvious right now. But we all have Josh Allen, so that's going to wash out. He's going to score a million points. There's a lot of chalky plays this week. Well, let's see if it happens again here.

61:50 ↗

My running backs, my starting to. Okay. Sequin Barclay at 7,700. Okay. Eno Benjamin at 4,600 this week. I have Eno Benjamin in my flex. That 4600 price tag is... too good to not take advantage of. He is the highest odds on Drafking Sportsbook to score a touchdown. Minus 1 to score a touchdown this week. So he's in there. I'll just give you my other running backs as well as my flex. Since we're on running backs, I've got Ramandre Stevenson. Cannot fathom that we don't all have Ramandre Stevenson at 6,000. Okay. No. Oh, wow. Andy's, well, I guess it's my start of the week. Remandio Stevenson. And I have Brees Hall at 5800. So three running backs that are 6,000 or less on my roster. Mike? So, you know, Benjamin is my flex player as well. So we've all got Eno. Yes. So, but my starting two running backs.

62:47 ↗

Remandre Stevenson at 6,000. But then I have Kenneth Walker at 5,400 taking on the Arizona Cardinals at home. His line on Drafking Sportsbook right now, 80 and a half rushing. We all went Flex running back then. Yes. I have Kenneth Walker as well. Okay. I'm the only one with Sequin? You are the only one with Sequin. Interesting. All right. Let's dish out the wide receivers in the tight end position. I guess I'll just finish the lineup out. How about that? Sure. My wide receivers. Stefan Diggs. Okay. With the Josh Allen stack in the highest overrunner of the week. And then my other two whiteouts. I went with Chris Godwin against Pittsburgh at 6,100. And I went with, this was the bargain here. And Tyler Lockett, not being in this lineup, kind of messed this up. But I went Darius Slaten at 3,800. Interesting. For the Giants as my bargain play, he was good last week. Baltimore is not a great defense right now. My tight end, I went with Noah Fant.

63:45 ↗

at 3,000. I needed a bargain there. Okay. I pivoted from KDOT and to Noah Fant, Seattle, Lockett having some issues and that being a high over under. And then on defense, I had to go basement dwelling with the expensive digs in Godwin. So I went with the Norland Saints against Cincinnati. Cincinnati might not have T. Higgins, New Orleans at home. 2,800. Joe Burrow likes to take a sack or two a game. I only have four fingers. There are three fingers and a thumb, guys. Because you're a cartoon man. Yeah, you're a cartoon man. You're not even like a real person. Cartoons can't be bothered to draw in the fifth digit. We have very, very similar wide receivers. Andy, I have Stefan Diggs.

64:25 ↗

And Chris Godwin. Oh, boy. And just like you had, I had Tyler Lockett. I had to pivot off. And I went to Chris Olave. Yeah. He's in my lineup. Should Chris Olave not clear concussion? What's his price? Chris Olave is 5500. Yeah, it's not. A hundred less than what Lockett was at. Yes. Should he not clear concussion protocol, I will be switching to Christian Kirk. I have 400 remaining dollars on my salary so I can move up to him. At tight end, I as well. Pivoted off of Kate Otton and went with Zach Gentry for the Pittsburgh Steelers against that Tampa Bay matchup. He was only 2,600. And I went bottom of the barrel. The.

65:06 ↗

Cheapest defense. Did you go with me? I'm with the Panthers against the Rams. I'm going to get all them sacopotamuses. All right. So these lineups are very chalky, chalky, chalky, Chalky. Stefan Diggs, Chris Godwin are in my lineup. Come on. The price is just one. You got to get the Josh Allen, Stefan Diggs stack. So we are just, there's Chris Godwin is still underpriced at 6,100. So here's where we differentiate. I do have the Carolina Panthers because they're the lowest priced defense. And I. Matthew Stafford is playing terrible, and that offensive line is good. See what, Hegby? No, they're going to give up sacks. So my third wide receiver, I went another player in that Kansas City matchup. I went with MVS at 4,500, just to see if we can get a little bit of magic. And then my tight end, because I still had some cash, I went David and Joku. Nice. At 4,000. All right. Well, you know, Alan Diggs, Godwin, and Eno are in all of our lineups, right?

66:03 ↗

Yeah. And there is, there's nobody else that is in all three. Nobody else in all three. But then a bunch of duplications. The Panthers have. Kenneth Walker for me and Mike. Yep. Okay. All right. I can't, I can't use my mouse pad. What do you? Why don't you close our segment, Mike? Would you mind? Yes, I will. That was Fantasy Face Off presented by Draft King Sportsbook.
