For the historical 2022 contest, the hosts ask entrants to impress them, make them laugh or feel something, stay concise, have fun, and demonstrate that they will be fun league companions rather than reciting fantasy credentials.
The hosts say they met Brooks because he made a Listener League entry video that impressed them and remains one of their favorites.
The 2022 Listener League window is announced for one week only, with the submission address given once and eight years of missed-deadline pleas said never to have changed the rule.
Jason and Mike are placed in a head-to-head mock while an unnamed conductor can veto their picks, choose for them, or hand control to the opponent.
An unlabeled host announces the supposedly controversial position of disliking COVID, expands it to hating all diseases, and asks listeners to vote on that platform.
The hosts say the keeper League of Record's future-pick trades make tanking a real problem, then recommend a co-manager who can be fired as the season's scapegoat.
The hosts announce a historical one-week 2022 submission window at [email protected]. Their official league includes one team per host, a private Slack, and yearlong banter with listeners. They reject trophy cases, claims of fantasy greatness, and 17-paragraph resumes; instead entrants should impress them, make them laugh or feel something, keep it concise, have fun, and show they will be fun to play with. Brooks is the proof: the hosts met him through a Listener League video entry that impressed them and remained a favorite. They also state that they never waive the deadline. Outside the announcement, Jason wrecks his voice by going full Jack Black at a live show, the hosts preview a hostile Mock Draft Mayhem format, propose an anti-disease political platform, and compare keeper-league tanking with the League of Record's need for a fireable co-manager scapegoat.
that's because it happens for all the teams there's no team out there that's one win uh 10 weeks into the season and they're not thinking about their future because it's literally in the best interest of the team so it's really a hard line to walk where it's like if i'm the owner of a one and nine team if i am you're darn right i want to lose i don't want to win another game why would i want to hurt my draft pick for the future to to just not make the playoffs what's more comical is that at least in the nfl
you could make a compelling argument about that team that culture those players winning in spite of your record can't jettison you to a better future right you learn to win together you learn the camaraderie in fantasy there's none of that there's none these players aren't on your real team man they're playing in the nfl and no moral victories here you know you just have to find a scapegoat and that's why you have a co-manager that you can fire all the time ooh uh that's good advice mike you blew the season i mean mr ross expressing his belief that the dolphin's
position in the upcoming 2020 draft should take priority over the win-loss record he's saying the quiet part out loud i mean yeah that's what you don't do i mean that's you just think it and everyone knows it to me the crazy stuff though is that there was any legitimacy here to tom brady and sean payton that is why when i heard those when i heard the rumors that they they were trying to orchestrate that and that's what they believed was going on i don't think that there was one percent of me that believed that believed that that was real it was insane
it just it does make you say like how many moves that have happened have backdoor multi-year backdoor but conversations before them you know and i'm not i'm not speculating on any specific deals but it's like did derek carr and devonte adams did they have a conversation in 2019 saying man someday we really got to figure this out like which is totally fine i mean if you want to play together that's fine i think players can do it at least they can in the nba right it's just when management starts getting involved i don't even know yeah i don't know how it relates to
