10 to 12 to 15 range for one of those guys makes sense to me. And that's if you've, it's just such a departure from how people were starting to look at Metcalf to start the year, which was like, is this the best dynasty wide receiver for the next 10 years? And I don't think the answer is going to be. Be careful. I mean, I'm not talking to the listener right now. I'm also talking into the mirror. Be careful with those first four weeks of the season. They get you every time. Yeah.

135 passagesDogecoin Metcalf is a bit of a, I'm just saying there might be a spike and then it goes to a normal price. That's all I'm saying. Look, we can go right into Adam Thielen and for that matter, for that matter, Tyler Lockett, right? These two two packs, they are, you know, they finished as these four wide receivers back to back to back to back, which is insane to think that. Yeah. That Tyler Lockett finished.
two spots behind D.K. Metcalf. But when it comes to Adam Thielen, consistency rank 18, finishes the wide receiver 8, had, you know, he's a pretty touchdown dependent. He was obviously... Yeah, 14 touchdown. 74 catches. Yeah, I mean, he's always been great. I still believe he's a great wide receiver, but the volume play of years prior when they were airing it out.
When that goes away a little bit more, and now you have the rookie come on the scene, the second half of the year, you had to be a little bit more disappointed in what you had with Adam Thielen. Are you for sure drafting Justin Jefferson over Adam Thielen next year? Absolutely. I think that's a yes. But more receptions, 500 more yards, same touchdown potential moving forward. So if it's a round difference, would you still rather, would you rather have Justin Jefferson for a round earlier or take the...
the value gap and get. There is a chance Thielen ends up being a value for the next couple of years because of the Jefferson Ball. Thelan has been a top 10 wide receiver three of the last four years. Yeah, I mean, I feel like I would rather have Thielen at the, at the discount. I think that the hype for Jefferson, the hope that he is. The hype hope. Randy Moss, you know, just like, you know, Jerry Rice. He's going to be.
A forever thing and one of the greatest wide receivers of all time might inflate his value a little too much. When we know, even with him doing great things, Adam Thielen was still good and Thielen's been great for pretty much ever. Yeah, I still lean the, I mean, it's pretty impressive that Jefferson finished so much ahead of Thielen in his rookie year when he didn't have the full allotment of snaps. But Thielen will probably end up a value. And honestly, it's really impressive that these guys finished at what, six and eight on a run for his Dalvin Cook team?
That's what I'm talking about. Get rid of all these third wide receivers. That's pretty much what happened. Just like if you've got a great tight end, then you get one wide receiver. If you don't have a good tight end, then you get two wide receivers. Don't throw the ball anybody else. Fantasy is king and NFL and, you know, look, stick to the pie being split between two guys. While we're at it. Can we just get a few more tight ends featured? Probably not. You're going to have to remove some wide receivers there, Mike, based on my rules. I'm okay doing that.
As long as we can get just like two more. Just two more. Okay. You don't need retreads. You don't want them coming back in the league. No. Do we need Antonio Gates back? Oh, please no. I don't think that that would be good. For the sake of the show. Come on back. Yeah, Gates and Rivers now. Both retired, huh? Oh, yeah. Days down by. We're old. Thielen was a 33% bus rate, 53% good, 27% great. Missed the game with COVID in week 12.
But you do notice Cousins just goes to him in the red zone. I mean, 14 touchdowns is a ridiculous total. In fact, I mean, if Thielen halves that, which is seven is not a bad number, this is a pretty disappointing year for Thieland. Sure. Under 1,000 yards, under 80 catches. So nine games of four or fewer receptions. So that could be an indicator of, you know, where he's at right now.
I would agree with that. And look, he's had four great seasons the four years prior. And to speak to your touchdown dependency argument, he was looked to and he was awesome in the red zone. I feel like they could continue to do that. But for the four years prior, he averaged six touchdowns. So that is, you know, 14 would be the outlier. Yeah. I am not going to talk about Tyler Lockett yet. I am going to save that entertaining conversation.
