Before Deucer Cam, Backwards Hat Brooks and the shaved Borgogan appear
The Deucers answer a collective roll call, but the hosts say no one can see them because Deucer Cam is not yet available; it is being worked on under #BlameOwl. Brooksie is explicitly visible in the back with a backward snapback, becomes cool new Brooks, Backwards Hat Brooks, and Joe Cool, and says the football-time look prevents his brim from hitting the microphone. Kyle the Borgogan is visibly clean-shaven and says he had to shave after losing, describing the result as his mourning.
moment
A 0.28 loss meets Andy's impossible Seahawks call
An unidentified League-of-Record manager reports losing by 0.28 points during an exchange about Russell Wilson's last play; the hosts invoke Wilson's 'Unlimited' identity and an unlabeled reply says, 'I can't stand that.' The transcript does not safely name the manager or state the shovel definitively caused the loss. Separately, the desk explicitly credits Andy with predicting Seattle could upset Denver when Vegas and almost nobody believed it, then congratulates him after the win.
moment
Will Dissly cannot revive Jason's expired Jimmy Graham bet
Will Dissly's three-catch, 43-yard touchdown game prompts the hosts to ask whether Jason now gets $100. They immediately rule that he does not because Jimmy Graham is out of the league, so the older wager is over and repeatedly declared done.
moment
Papa Josh runs Discord trivia and the tilt room
The hosts direct listeners to the free Fantasy Footballers Discord, announce a trivia night that evening, and explicitly say Papa Josh runs the events there. The community is framed as a place to hang out and either tilt after a rough week or brag about a strong team.
moment
Betz handles injury skepticism while Kyle gets live lookups
Matthew Betz is explicitly called the injury expert and Fantasy PT; his relayed assessment sees a possible high-ankle mechanism and recommends watching Najee Harris in practice. Later the hosts route a Wan'Dale Robinson lookup to Kyle. A subsequent unlabeled update reports only day-to-day status, so its voice remains unnamed. Kyle is separately credited with supplying the 40.5 New England-Pittsburgh total.
moment
Ty Davis-Price wins Trey Sermon of the Year
Ty Davis-Price is described as the higher-draft-capital 49ers back who was nevertheless inactive, earning the named Trey Sermon of the Year award.
moment
The anti-goose rule meets a goose that cannot fly in rain
An unlabeled host values Taysom Hill's four or five expected carries because they should prevent a tight-end goose. Cole Kmet's Week 1 zero is then discarded as a rainy goose; the hosts make the metaphor literal by saying even a goose could not have flown in the storm and continue to want Kmet.
moment
Full Stream Ahead crosses the Arizona tertiary
The produced Full Stream Ahead cue opens the recurring weekly quarterback-streaming segment. Its first bench-streamer matchup demotes Arizona's pass defense from a secondary to a tertiary, and another host explicitly reacts to the construction before calling the defense awful.
moment
Welcome to the Fold frames the waiver main event
The show explicitly opens its main Week 1 waiver block with the produced Welcome to the Fold name and closes the block under the same name immediately before Full Stream Ahead.
moment
Keenan's recovery timetable exposes a League-of-Record agenda
An unnamed manager hopes Keenan Allen misses two games and is accused of self-interest because the next matchup is against Andy, who is explicitly identified as rostering Keenan in the League of Record. The same unnamed opponent is then teased for having Mike Williams before offering a conspicuous 'Heal up, Keenan.'

Episode notes
The opening is an unusually detailed prehistory of Deucer Cam. The Deucers answer a collective roll call, but the camera is not yet available and the desk says it is being worked on under #BlameOwl. Brooksie is explicitly visible in the back wearing a backward snapback; the hosts call him a cool new Brooks and Joe Cool, recall meeting Backwards Hat Brooks in the hallway, and learn that the football-time outfit keeps his brim from hitting the microphone. Kyle the Borgogan is also visibly clean-shaven, says he had to shave because he lost, and describes the result as his mourning. An unnamed League-of-Record manager reports losing by 0.28 points during a Russell Wilson exchange that invokes the one-word Unlimited cue, while Andy receives direct credit for the apparently unbelievable preseason call that Seattle could upset Denver. A separate League-of-Record aside explicitly says Andy rosters Keenan Allen and teases an unnamed opponent, who has Mike Williams, for hoping the hamstring absence lasts through their matchup. Will Dissly's touchdown triggers a check on whether Jason earns $100, but the desk declares the older bet over because Jimmy Graham is out of the league. Community and expertise roles are explicit: Papa Josh runs events for the Fantasy Footballers Discord and its trivia night, while Matthew Betz is credited as the injury expert whose high-ankle skepticism leads to a practice-watch recommendation. The hosts ask Kyle to research Wan'Dale Robinson; a later unlabeled update reports only day-to-day, and Kyle is separately credited with the 40.5 betting total. The main waiver block is explicitly opened and closed as Welcome to the Fold. Ty Davis-Price's high draft capital followed by inactive status earns the Trey Sermon of the Year award. Tight-end waiver talk first taunts Mike with the Fantasy Hitman Hill variation, reinforcing his established Taysom grudge without assigning the brief rejection voices; later Taysom's carries are valued as protection from a zero, while Cole Kmet's Week 1 result becomes a rainy goose that even a goose could not have flown through. Full Stream Ahead closes by explicitly demoting Arizona's pass defense from a secondary to a tertiary.
All right, that was welcome to the fold presented by Samsung Galaxy with multitasking on Galaxy Z Fold for you. You can view available players on the waiver wire, check player rankings, and watch highlights all at once. Visit Samsung.com to learn more. Full stream ahead. Well, every week we are looking at streaming quarterback options, all the more important when you lose a DAC Prescott and you are trying to find a matchup that might work for you this week. I want to throw out a player I'm calling a bench streamer because apparently heavily rostered. Yep. But not started last week. Derek Carr at home against what we're calling the Arizona tertiary. It's not even a secondary. I like what you do. It's awful. They can't put pressure on Derek Carr. 17 targets to Devante Adams last week.
I think he's going to be outstanding. And I think Arizona will keep up. That's what they, they will do enough on offense to make this a productive game for Derek Carr. But beyond the heavily roster, Derek Carr, my start is Jared Gough. Washington allowed the most quarterback fantasy points in 2021. Jared Gough at home, taking on Washington, averaging 36 past attempts per game at home with weapons, right? Amman Ra, DeAndre Swift, DJ Chark. I think it's going to be pretty good for Jared golf this week if you're desperate. Yeah, no, I like that quite a bit. And I am one of your bench streamer players. I will be playing Derek Carr over.
Kirk Cousins. I have both of them in one of my leagues. That's pretty bold. I'm going to stream. I know this will be crazy to think you can stream this player since he was, you know, the third highest scoring quarterback on the week, scored more than Jalen Hertz, more than Kyler Murray, more than Lamar Jackson. So it's like, well, he's probably not available, right? Carson Wentz. Oh, gross. Carson Wentz is my streaming candidate. He's going to be across the field from Jared Goff in Detroit, in a dome, no weather problems, had four touchdowns last week, and also now has weapons. It doesn't look like it's just the Terry McLaurin show. You add Jehan Dodson, you add Curtis Samuel, Gibson is a good pass catcher. So I think this game is one where you could end up with a lot of points.
Even if you don't want to watch it. Even if you, I think I do want to watch it. Well, you saw exactly, Jared Goff last week. It's the same recipe for Detroit. Get down by a bunch. Jerogh throws a ball a million times, ends up fine in the end of the game. And then Carson Wins, like you're talking about in the same matchup, he's got the weapons now. I hate that I agree with your Carson Wins take. Would you bench Aaron Rogers for him? I need some Al-N-Lazard news before I make that decision. Uh, my streamer will be, that was a good escape, Mike. Yeah. Professional. You know who else escapes for pressure? Justin Fields will be taking on the Green Bay Packers. The rushing floor is there. We're talking 34 and a half rushing yards per game in his starts. And this team, this does not look like the Matt Nagy team. I know we're throwing out most of the game, but, but the drumbeat has been very positive over the preseason for Justin Fields. And I would be so.
unconsciously terrified to do that against Greenberg because I understand on the road I still thought that even though the water was a problem falling from the sky I didn't like the decision making of Justin Fields in that game did you guys I mean it's it's so it's so very difficult to to truly have full takeaways from that game on it's better even on decision making of you don't know what's going on with what the player's feet guess when you have Dante Pettis everything is okay yeah that's like The two superstars, well, that's just, I mean, that's being generous, I guess. Pet us and who? No, no, I'm saying the two stars, Colquomet and Darnell Mooney, did nothing for this squad last week and a couple other role players were able to step up. This Green Bay defense, man, maybe they get it figured out this week, but the way that they played specifically against Justin Jefferson, and no, Darnell Mooney is not Jefferson. But the decisions they made,
was like Darnel Mooney would do very similar things to that secondary if that's how they're going to play it. So I think that I think you can play them in a pinch. I think that Fields could be fine for fantasy, but the Bears are going to get destroyed. Yeah, they are. I think it's going to be like this is not an almost upset pick for me. No, well, this is like, they're going to be heavily favored. Yes. This is more of all Bears fans will be upset. at the end of it. But Justin Fields could have plenty of garbage time to get things done even in that narrative. So other options, Mario de Rams, you could take a shot at Matt Ryan against Jacksonville. You could take a shot at the Coles defense. You know, what's the truth going to be when they head to Jacksonville? Yeah, Matt Ryan, I was really going back and forth between Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz. Either one is a good option. So between these.
names. There's someone available on waivers to stream if you lost DAC or you've got a terrible matchup for whoever you drafted. All right. That is going to do it for today's show. Good luck on the waiver wire. Put those bids in. And we will be back tomorrow with ride or die, the mailbag, the Thursday night preview, and a lot more on the podcast. See you on Discord tonight.
