121 passagesflip-flopped back and forth this week so many times in my mind as to whether I have been so sure he is a must trade guy this week. And I have been so sure that you must absolutely hold on to him right now. It's finally happened. So I need your guys help. Okay. Lamar Miller.
What do you do with Lamar Miller, who has finally had a big blowup game? Do you utilize it and trade it with Deontiform in there? Or do you go, wow, this new offense, the new, you know, the read options that we've been looking at? I mean, now you see my dilemma. It's tough, man. I totally understand what if you're buying into Deshaun Watson, and it's at this point, it's hard to not buy into what Watson is doing on the field the past couple weeks.
Lamar Miller is going to be a huge benefactor and he's the past catching running back. Foreman, I know he's had these huge plays in the passing game, but that's not his real skill set. Lamar Miller is that guy. So, oh, man. I try to trade him. I don't think you, I don't think that the one big game for Lamar Miller has boosted his value enough in the eyes of the majority fantasy players that you will get something special back. So I, I would.
beholding Lamar Miller. Interesting. Yeah. I mean, that really is what it comes down to is do other people believe enough to pay up for him? Because if I can have someone pay up for him, I think they're, I think it'll very league to league for sure. Let's say right now, because Jason, you love Melville Gordon, you could move. I would do it in a heartbeat. Lamar Miller plus another little piece. That's, yeah. For Melvin Gordon, yes. Melvin Gordon complaining about his touches today. I love that.
Love that. Be squeaky. Be a squeaky wheel out there, Melvin Gordon. Be squeaky. You'd be a good coach. His knee is squeaky. Hey, that's not nice. All right. Thursday night, really looking forward to this Thursday night game. Mostly because the Patriots can't play defense, but they can play offense. So I'm expecting, look, there's a 55 and a half point over under between the Patriots and the Buccaneers. This game's in Tampa. And, uh,
Look, I mean, let's just get it going early. Oh, Andy's almost upset of the week. Wow. You're going to give me five and a half points at home against that Patriots defense? I'll take it. Give me Tampa at home. Look. The Patriots falling to below 500. That is, I was thinking about this earlier. No matter what happens to the Patriots, it's entertaining to me. I realize this. If they win,
and they win a lot, very entertaining. I love seeing dominance. I love seeing Belichick, Brady, the final few years with them. That's great. If they lose, it's like, you know, it's like the king has died. I mean, it's just Joffrey has. Yeah, I mean, you're just curious about everything else that will happen in the NFL. It's like the Dominion is over. You just put Joffrey on the Patriots. I'm sure you made some people happy, but that's, Patriots aren't Joffrey. Yes, yes, they very much are. Yes, in football?
You know who's happy? The people who like the Patriots. Everyone else in the entire United States, nay, the world hates the Patriots because they're dominant. They have earned that right. Here's a problem. It's one we foresaw a long time ago. Maybe thought we had overcome. But Mike Gillisley, not getting goal line work last week with, I mean, Dionne Lewis almost had two 10 zone touchdowns last week.
Dion Lewis. You have Burkhead who hasn't even been active for two weeks. You have James White with 10 receptions. Mike Gillisley right now, people are pulling their hair out because they're trying to start him as an every week start. He's not delivering. You're one of those guys. You might have a couple more Ws in League of Record if Gillisley had delivered like week one and two. What in the world do you do with Gillisley? Is he a must start in this matchup where the Buccaneers are the fifth-ranked Rundee? He's still a must start for me. I know it.
Would you start him or Wendell Smallwood against Arizona? Gillisly, for sure. Okay. Would you start him? Would you start James White? If it's a half point or more, I might go to James White. I mean, the thing is, he's still getting on the field. He's still been getting on the field for those goal line carries. He got stuffed on his one this past week, but the Patriots have also been using shenanigans down.
at the line. And I think that a lot of it has to do with teams have seen how great Mike Gillisley is at the goal line job. So they've they've pivoted at the way that the Patriots would. So I'm still buying into Gillisley as an every week starter. What about you, Jay?
Yeah, I do as well. I mean, look, if you can't play defense and you can't play offense, it means there's going to be a ton of points scored. And whenever the Patriots are flying down the field, they're going to have goal line opportunities. What you don't get is, what you were hoping for is Mike Gillisley is killing the clock, just getting, getting the ball 25 times because the Patriots are dominating the way that they used to in the past.
The problem is the Patriots aren't that team right now. And that's what I'm saying. That's the big problem with Gillisley. Will the Patriots be able to fix their defense? Because I believe they will. I believe when we're in week 10, 11, 12, we're not going to be saying, oh, this guy's playing the Patriots. You've got to play him. But I don't know if you can go from basement to top 10. We saw this. They went from top five to basement.
Pretty easy with the same cast of characters. Well, that's a lot easier to do, and it's not all the same cast. We've seen that happen, though. I don't remember if it was last year or two years ago. The Kansas City and the Texans have done that recently. But the Chiefs did that on the back of getting healthier and getting more players back. I'm not saying that Belichick can't do it. I just don't think you're going to go from 30 to 6. I think you're going to, I think the peak here is maybe you're a 10 to 15 team if things turn the right way. And so I.
Can they get it fixed? Maybe, but that's, I don't want to wait on Gillisley for that. But the Patriot, yeah. You're playing Tampa Bay. But the Patriots has a top 10 to 15 pass defense. That's all you need. So do you try to, Andy, do you try to trade Gillisly then if you have them? Do you try to trade Gillisly if you have them? If I am a, if I'm a winning team, if I have a 3 and 1 4-0 record, the answer is no. I look forward to him facing.
Miami, Buffalo, Miami towards the end of the year and having those matchups that they should be well out ahead of because those offenses can't get it done. If I'm desperate to make a move right now because I need to change things, I don't know what you're going to get the next few weeks. Now, speaking of, we mentioned trying to manufacture, tried to buy a win. I tried to do that in our league of record with what I thought was a sizable bid.
for a waiver wire quarterback because Winston, James Winston was on our waiver wire and Kirk Cousins is my quarterback. He's on a buy week. So I tried to buy James for 11% of my budget for a one week quarterback rental. I was outbid. You were almost doubled because that's where the Patriots are. And I'm super frustrated right now. Yeah, James has an incredible matchup.
And you tried to spend, but not enough. Yeah. Unfortunately, the guy that picked him up is my opponent. That sucks. Go Patriots defense. Now, that's funny right there. Yeah. All right. What other fantasy questions are we looking at in this matchup? Are you starting Amandola? You're starting. I'm starting everybody. Let me throw a little deep league sleeper play out there that I think is great. I've actually tried to pick them up in two leagues. I hope it's pronounced a specific way. It's pronounced with an Humphreys. Oh, yeah.
Adam Humphreys, six receptions in each of the last two weeks facing a New England defense ranked 32nd against the pass. And Humphreys is in the trust circle for James Winston. It's funny to think you might be better off starting an Adam Humphreys versus an Amari Cooper. Yeah. Depending on what you need, I would definitely do that. And a shout out to one.
It's crazy. One of our writers, Nate Hamilton, he had pinged me this morning. He was like, it's like, Hey, Mike, I just like, Humphreys is very much on his radar. He says he's been targeted 17 times with 12 receptions for 138 yards the last two weeks. He's like, so I mean, we got to make sure that people have him on the radar. So I'm glad that Andy brought him up. Brood him up. Brood him up because I would have done it. I would have done it if you didn't. I'm basically starting everybody on both sides of the ball. I'm not going to start to quiz. I'm not going to start.
You start D-Jax? I would start D-Jax. I'm not starting Charles Sims. I am starting Doug Martin. If I've got him. That's a good good. That's bold, Jason. No, but there's a lot of people saying I'm going to wait a week to see what happens. What? Oh, man. I'm saying don't do that. There's no way. I drafted a suspended player.
And wait four weeks back. Well, I got to see what I got. You're going to give him an extra week. No, he's getting in there. You know who else is getting in there? Cameron Brate. Yes. He is a great streaming tight end option this week. Light them up, man. I'm taking, do you take the over on 55 and a half? I hope so. You know the Patriots are going to score. That's a foregone conclusion. So it's just a matter of on a short week. Are they going to stop James who just put up a monster week? Yeah, I think I think you go over here. Yeah. All right. It's mailbag time.
Mailbag. Mail bag. Yeah. Ooh. Sousy. I have some of the Thursday night excitement built in. I never know where it's going to go. I just let the mailbag lead me. Oh, well done. I am so looking forward to next week when I'm on a buy. And you guys are running the show. And if you don't know that, this is going to be, it's going to be. Oh, Daddy's gone. The show's two hour episodes every. Oh, God. Hey, Brooks. Can you just do your best, buddy.
Oh, we're locking the door. Brooks isn't even allowed in. Oh, my God. We're just going to get crazy in here. Episode's not even being produced. Don't go to YouTube next week. We might be shirtless. I mean, haven't bathed or shaved in days. I'm going to be in California with the family. We're going to take a week and travel up to Disneyland. Oh. So I will be returning happier and fatter. Nice. Churro filled. And you guys will.
Do whatever you do. I'll try to ignore it. All right. This question, our first mailbag question, by the way, you can go to the website, the fancy footballers.com, click this submit a question button or dial our voicemail hotline at 302-464 TFFB. This question just came in via text. Who? I've got Jeff Kingman, one of the radio guys on a network that I've jumped on before. He sent me an ethical question. And I love this question. It's a quick question candidate.
Is it ethical to do a trade for a week with the agreement that you'll be getting the player back the following week? Basically a rental player situation. Player A needs Matt Stafford for one week. So player B will give him Frank Gore for a week and then they're going to swap it back the next week. If both teams are improved both weeks, meaning it's, hey, this makes sense for me to do this trade this week, I think that...
then it can be an ethical move, but you obviously you have to only do one trade at a time. Because if one of those guys gets injured, you can't have the first trade contingent on the second one. The second one has to be next week. He said people in his league are very upset and I am with him. I think it is wrong. I think it is the, it is basically collusion because you are working with another team.
to an end, uh, that is, uh, it's not selfish. It's, it, it needs, your trays need to be selfish. But usually when you're cold, the.
the idea of all these teams are colluding it's they're trying to prop up one team right so jason's point of that's where both teams have to succeed if one team is going i'm okay losing this guy this week if i get that guy next week and so it's like i get better next week because you get better this week that's absolutely not okay that's colluding but if if it's one of those things where hey this makes my team better and this makes your team better you know what that's called it's called a trade and then the next week if it's like hey
