Week 12 Matchups + In-or-Out, All Chewed Up

Are you playing anybody but Edelman on the New England side of the ball against a very good Cowboys defense? I'm willing to play James White. He's just, he's just super steady. That's fair. You're like, I'll get, I'll get my RB 22 points. Yeah, and if Dorset is active, I think I would play Dorset, assuming that Sanoo is out. Dorset's been, I mean, I know you could say, oh, it's on the back of touchdowns or whatever, but he's,

He's had plenty of relevant games for fantasy and, you know, I think you can do worse. Four? He's had more than that. I mean, it depends relative, you know, when I say relatively good games. I think it's four and it's the four games that he has scored. You pull up his consistency chart. He's the wide receiver 49 on the year. So I think there's risk, especially with Nikila Harry now being active. Like Harry, last week, if Dorset doesn't catch a pass from Edelman.

He's back in the 60s to 80s. So I don't disagree that you could take your shot on him. But the Cowboys defense is solid, man. Has been pretty darn good. Yeah, I don't think you're messing with. Fourth fewest fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position, eighth against quarterbacks. I think you're right, Andy. This is, for me, this is really, really brutal. I'm willing to play James White, willing to play Julian Edelman. What the heck do we do with Sony Michelle? Nothing. And you're not playing.

You're not playing him, I don't think. Are you? He's in the running... Let me ask you a couple questions. He's in the Dorset zone. Yeah, let me ask you. James White or Darius Guys, Bo Scarborough. James White. If any kind of PPR leave him. Sony, Michelle, or Darius guys, Bo Scarborough. Wow. I think I go... The last three weeks for Sony, Michelle, seven fantasy points, three, five.

Yeah, I mean, it's... Oh, my gosh. He has such a good touchdown opportunity. That's a demonic question. I think I would go. It's from the mouth of a demon. That was from Mordor. I did come in via Instagram from... Who would you start? The Great Eye. Yeah. Jason is sitting there just breathing in and out. It's really tough between Geis and Sony there. Sony? Not Sony. Yeah, I don't think it is. And I hate to admit that. But right now, there's no predictability there.

And I don't know what the team, the team's confidence that Sony Michelle has wavered. On the other side, by the way, I didn't mention it, Patriots six and a half point favorites, 45 point over under. Brady could be some light rain in this game. Brady, who's such a big name, people still continue to start him in your home leagues. He was the quarterback eight through the first six weeks since that time, basically the last five weeks. He's been the quarterback 23. He's not a usable fantasy guy. Would you play DAC on the road over Brady, though? Yes.

I would. Dak is actually leading the league in average passing yards per game. That is a baseline helper. Right? Yes. This is the baseline helper. I've never put it quite like that, but I did today. So you would play Dak over Brady? Yes, I would. Dak Prescott's been absolutely incredible. You just talked about how benching.

High-level quarterbacks, even though the matchups have been tough lately, has been a poor decision. New England's allowed just one top 12 performances. Was that Lamar? It was Lamar. Next highest was QB-16. Zeke, you play them. The wide receivers are where it gets messy. Amari Cooper, do you start him and then just be willing to take your lumps? Hmm. It's really, yeah, I mean, you might be in a position where you have to do that. I would.

love to be able to pivot, but then you say, okay, to who? You know, are you really going to start a Russell gauge over Amari Cooper? No, no. Just fantastic. So I think in most leagues you're going to end up just putting Cooper in your lineup. The truth is Amari Cooper, I know the matchup, it's not good. It's bad. But one-on-one, he beats people. He's going to beat people. And so if he's on the field...

I think you'll get three or four plays, and that might be enough. If you got four for 80 out of Amari and Cooper, that wouldn't be. I'd be thrilled. Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he could put up four for 80. So Amari's going to, unless you feel really, really strong about an alternative option. Michael Gallup. You've brought this up before, but I want to reiterate it. Amari Cooper at home so far in PPR leagues this season is averaging 27.26 fantasy points per game. That's a lot. That's a lot. On the road, he's averaging 10.

Yeah. 27 and 10 is the split. 10 would be a home run here. If we can get 10. Now it's 10. Maybe that's the lens you look at the Cooper start. If you're cool with 10, light them up. Yep. But Michael Gallup, Randallup, Randall Cobb, a lot of risk with them on the road in this matchup. Gallup has been playing well. I think he does need Cooper on the field to surprise in this game. But I'd be looking to flex another player personally. Would you rather play Michael Gallup in your flex or Benny Snell?

Is this a PPR league? This is a half point. But what if it was a PPR league? Half point. Who do you go? You'd go Gallup in a PPR? I would play Gallup in a PPR, yeah. And Benny Snell and a standard? Yeah. Okay. All right. And then Randall's played well too, but again, you're on the road. You're against New England secondary. It is a tough slot corner matchup.

You know, you've got two different narratives here, one of the one-on-one individual matchup and one of the scheme of the Patriots to take away the primary options from the Cowboys, which would be Cooper and Gallup. I think who could have a sneaky good game is actually Jason Witten. I mean, the Patriots are not afraid of Jason Witton. You know what I mean? Like, they're not going to be like, we've got to take them out of the game.

So it's one of those things where if you're in, you know, look, he's going to get five or six receptions. So do you mean like a good game, do you mean like against the Giants where it was nine targets, eight for 58? Yes, exactly. That's what I'm talking about. You're in a PPR league. You're thrilled with that. All right. Jason, I can get you a little more hyped here. Sunday night football. We've flexed into the Packers 49ers. I love this game.

Packers 8 and 2, 49ers 9 and 1, a 47.5 point over under. 49ers are 3-point home favorites. Here we go. Jimmy Garapolo gets to take on the Packers at home. If he plays a team not named Arizona, he's averaging 217 yards and 1.3 touchdowns per game. That being said, I think this is an interesting game for Jimmy G and the 49ers passing attack. Green Bay.

they're one of the few offenses that you look at and you say, hey, when Jimmy G's had a decent performance, it's been against teams that can put up a few points. And I don't think any of us are expecting. I mean, Vegas has them as an implied point total of 22.25 on the Packers side. I think Rogers will get some things done. And you haven't quite seen the seamless running game from the 49ers lately. So when I look at tough decisions with Emmanuel Sanders-Debo, Samuel, George Kittle,

I look at it with, you know, if I miss, I'm missing upside. Do you agree with that? Do you think that Debo Samuel can have another strong performance in this game? I certainly see it as in the range of outcomes. I am a bit concerned about just how banged up everybody is. I know he came back in the game. He finished and he had a really strong performance in back-to-back weeks and his target share is safe. But I do have concerns about his shoulder.

So are you hands off on these guys knowing that it's a Sunday night game, decisions to be made? Would you pivot to a Kendrick Bourne? Would you, you know, the way that someone would move from Robert Woods to Josh Reynolds? I would not personally. You know, this is a really good past defense from, you know, I think if you are the San Francisco 49ers and you're looking at this matchup.

You're seeing a team that can be beaten on the ground, and you know you've got to get that going with some of your injuries to your wide receiver core. So I think they're going to try and maybe they won't be able to get it going, but they're going to try to focus on the run here. They're going to try to get Tevin Coleman and either Brita or Moster going. And unfortunately, you know, we don't know if Brita's going to practice today. It's a Sunday night game. So when it comes to who's the RB2 for fantasy, I don't think you're going to know.

Here, Andy, I'm going to throw out some names for you to test your desire to play Debo. Sure. All right, so Debo, who's been limited in practice, it sounds like he's going to play, but do you risk going into Sunday night with Debo, or would you rather play Michael Gallup against the Patriots? I'll play Debo. Golden Tate against Chicago. I, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think I'd lean Tate.

Okay. And then let's say James and Crowder against Oakland. I'll play Crowder. Crowder for sure. Yeah, I think both those are a little safer, but yeah, that's about where you're at. I'm not too concerned about the injury for what it's worth. But Kyle Shanahan has insinuated those could come down to the wire. I think that's a bit of gamesmanship. I think it's true with Emmanuel Sanders because he's been dealing with the rib injury. But if I had to handicap it right now, you know, you go in or out on those three. I think all three play.

I think Emmanuel Sanders plays. It could be limited snaps. Debo plays, Kittle plays. Yeah, I think that's... Do you go back to Moster, Jason? No, you know, Moster is one of those things where, you know, Breita is trying to practice. You know, they said he's going to miss one or two weeks. He's missed one. If he's active, I don't think you can deal with Moster at all. And if he's inactive, though, you're not touching the colonel? If I knew he was inactive, I would put the colonel in.

The problem is it's Sunday night football. I think you might know today. He was sidelined on Thursday. You get a practice report today. We might know. You might. But the fact that it's a Sunday night and you're planning on playing Rahim most. I mean, he's already a lower end option. Fair, fair. And that would be a situation where you don't want to be caught in it. You've got him locked into your lineup. And then if you do that, make sure he's in your flex. So that you have, you know, that way Sunday. And know your escape plan. Exactly.

Aaron Rogers has finished outside the top 25 times. San Francisco is allowing 143 passing yards per game. That's the fewest in the NFL. This is another player versus matchup situation, you know, quarterback versus the difficult matchup. Kyle Murray got it done last week. Will Aaron Rogers be able to get it done in San Francisco? You know, so far this year, if you look at the home road splits, it has been, you know, he has not been as good. Aaron Rogers.

that is, outside of Lambo. He has had a couple big games. Oakland. Oakland, I assume. Well, Oakland, I believe, was at home. Kansas. Kansas City on the road was solid 30. That was the one good road game was in Kansas City. This is a road game against a top tier defense. And so I do worry a little bit about Aaron Rogers in this matchup because he has not been as good on the road. And then the really tough, I mean, this pass rush is so legit.

You know, Richard Sherman's got the secondary playing well. So, you know, you're not going to bench Rogers. Over under 250 yards for Aaron Rogers. I'll take the under. I would take the over, but I've got like 266. So I'm not excited. Would you play Aaron Rogers or would you play James Winston against the surging falcons? I would play Winston. I think I would too. Would you play Derek Carr against the hapless Jets or Aaron Rogers?

I would rather play Derek Carr. But obviously it's close. I mean, they're right next to each other in my rankings and I look at it and I. What if I told you that Derek Carr has rebranded and now he is Derek Cybertruck. Oh, Aaron Rogers is in my lineup. Fragile windows. Send in the truck.

Repair the truck. Repair the truck. Aaron Jones, he's going to play for you. Jamal Williams. Are you willing to flex Jamal Williams? Do you like him more than a guy like Scarborough or Geis? No, I'll take the other. I'll take the other guys. Okay. Yeah, San Francisco's defense is legit. Devante Adams is in. No other pass catchers for Green Bay? Correct. Ravens, Rams, Monday night football. Oh, yeah. That'll be fun. Ravens three-point favorites on the road against the Rams. That is all you need to know about the 2019.

football season. Ravens are playing exceptionally well right now. It's a 46.5 point over under. You're in a situation now where the Ravens' offense and defense are both ascending at the same time and you're seeing it on the field each and every week. You just, it's very difficult to slow down this offense when you can't contain Lamar Jackson and you can't contain him. Yeah, you, you, yeah, you cannot.

contain a guy that's faster than your three fastest guys, like if you can put them together. It's really difficult, but the defense for the Ravens has just been outstanding as well. You know, early Monday, I was thinking, you know, Goff was protected better and he's at home and, you know, Lamar Jackson's going to be putting up points. And so Goff could be a top 15 quarterback. Look, the Ravens have only given up a top 15 quarterback.
