Wide receivers All right, let's do it, boys. This first name, well, it's no surprise. Number one. Antonio Brown, pretty good at football. He is fantastic, and he is such a cut above every other wide receiver when it comes to two things, which are both the most important things. You want consistency in fantasy football, and you want big game ability in fantasy football. He is...

131 passagesthe most consistent wide receiver at fantasy football, and he has the biggest games in fantasy football. I mean, there's not much to say about Antonio Brown. He's done it year after year after year. His average season totals over the last four years, if you look at what he has averaged, last season, no one got as many receptions as he has averaged, and no one has had as many yards as he has averaged over the last four seasons. Past five season average, 116, 16 yards, 10 touchdowns.
Yep, average. Since 2013, just to back that up, most receptions in the league, most touchdowns in the league, most yards in the league. Antonio Brown is, as Jason would say, when you saddle a stud with your first round pick, he, to me, is the only wide receiver who fits that category as...
He gives you the same advantage that a workhorse three-down running back gives you because Antonio Brown is so consistent and so good. He's back. There was a little hold the breath because Antonio Brown was missing some time with a minor injury. But then the clips are already back of him just making fools. Torching guys. Making fools out of defensive backs. Antonio Brown is the man.
He should be the number one wide receiver. If you want to take him number one overall in the draft, no problem with that. Yes, agreed. Number two. That was easy. The Andre Hopkins, depending on your scoring system, he was the number one wide out last season, incredibly consistent. Deshawn Watson and company for a period of the year made Hopkins look like a league winner. I still take Antonio Brown ahead of him. Agreed. 100%. What about in the Dynasty League?
You got a four-year age gap. In a dynasty league, I would take Hopkins. Okay. Because of the quarterback situation, really. Antonio Brown still has, I think, multiple years left, but when they're close and Hopkins is still ascending. So last season, Hopkins had one more game than Brown, but Brown had more receptions, more yards. It was just a touchdown differential.
9 for Brown, 13 for Hopkins. We all expect Hopkins to be great, but 175 targets for DeAndre Hopkins, do you expect him to approach that level again this year? Because I don't want, we had a season, right, with Mike Evans, where he had entered the upper echelon of dynasty drafts, and he was in the 172 target range, something like that. Hopkins seems to be the kind of player that can sustain a higher target total.
for a longer period of time. But what do you guys think about? We've seen it before from Hopkins. Yeah, he had 192 targets three seasons ago. And last season with the 174 targets, that was in only 15 games. So I do expect that 170 targets, that's an obtainable number for Hopkins. Bill O'Brien is one of those coaches that if you've got an elite player, he's going to say get the ball to him, left, right, center, every play. So I don't have a problem with that. I do, however, have one.
overall worries of DeAndre Hopkins being overvalue based on what he did last season. Two years ago, he's the 29th, you know, wide receiver. If you look at his, you know, splits, last year he was dominant. He was unbelievably consistent, fantastic, good for you. But if you'd look at the two-year sample, which is kind of how I look at wide receivers, you know, the average there, you go, okay, he's really good.
But he's being drafted as if what he did last year is absolutely what he's going to do again. We've talked about Deshaun Watson's touchdown rate being astronomically high, like impossible to repeat, even if he is the number one quarterback next year. He's not going to repeat that touchdown rate. So I do think DeAndre Hopkins, like to me, DeAndre Hopkins is my fourth wide receiver this year. Love him.
That's a great ranking, but I would still rather have O'Dell Beckham Jr. and Julio Jones over DeAndre. I think that's, yeah, I agree with some of what you said. I definitely don't agree with the two-year sample piece just because of the quarterback situation. I think that that's proven. That's proven troublesome. You know, if you had looked at Fitzgerald's two-year split when he had John Skelton or you look at another. Like Hopkins did something nobody could do. Yeah, there's.
And it wasn't Watson the whole time. He also had to play with some pretty bad quarterbacks for the second half of the season. The target share that DeAndre Hopkins got this past season. That's where, even though I currently have Hopkins at number two, that's the most difficult thing because last year, Hopkins a 33% target share. 33% of the passes went to DeAndre Hopkins. You can look at, and that's number one in the league.
Wide receiver ranked 2 through 10 in Target share. They are, they are average 27%. I mean, that's a huge gap, a huge jump up to where Hopkins was at number one. Will Fuller, their second best wide receiver was in and out of the lineup. If he can play 16 games, you have to get him more involved.
the evolution of Braxton Miller, who's getting some of that off-season hype, that off-season love. So that would be my only concern is that 170 targets comes down to the 150 range, and that simply means that then Hopkins will finish at number five. So he's still going to, I don't see a way that Hopkins destroys your team. Right, yeah. Or busts on the pick. I agree with that. This is a much better receiving core.
as a team, like you said, with Will Fuller. They drafted Kiki Kootie. Now they've got a couple of tight ends kind of showing flashes. So to have that kind of target share percentage would be really tough. That being said, if I was the quarterback of the Houston, Texas. Yeah, I would throw to Hopkins. I would throw it to Hopkins. Number three. All right, O'Dell Beckham Jr. is our consensus number three wide receiver. He returns from injury. His average draft position right now is the 11th pick of the first round.
And he's an interesting case because if you could blot out the injury from your mind, from your bias, right? Which is tough. Let's say the judge over there, he looks over to the jury and he says, please disregard that injury testimony. Could you do it? And what would that mean? That would mean he should be the number two wide receiver. Yes. On the year because before that, before last year's injury.
He never had fewer than 1,300 yards. He's never had fewer than 90 receptions. He's never had fewer than double-digit touchdowns. Odo Beckham is a monster. And he is, I think, as close as you can get to Antonio Brown level of giving you the advantage at the wide receiver position. We just haven't seen that. We haven't seen a top three season from old, oh, from.
Beckham, even based on those numbers. Yeah, the reality is, you know, the same argument that we made for Antonio Brown, he's very consistent and has huge blow-up games, can be made for Odell Beckham Jr. If you look at the numbers that I was saying, the two-year splits that I look at, and these are just games played,
Number two is Odell Beckham Jr. as far as being consistent as a wide receiver 1 or 2. 65% of his games, he's better than a 1 or 2 or better than the 24th wide receiver. And if you look at, say, number 3, Michael Thomas during that time, and you compare, well, how can you have big blow-up games that really win you a week? Michael Thomas is at 29% while Odell Beckham.
is second at 50% of his games are those big wide receiver one weeks. His talent is unbelievable. So I'm fine with O'Dell Beckham as number two. We all have them. Teams are consensus three, but we each have him ranked as our third wide receiver. His offense should be better.
Welcome back, Odell. You get to play Jacksonville Week 1. Yeah. How fun with Jalen Ramsey. All right. I was so excited for the Giants. I saw Jalen Ramsey was suspended by the Jaguars. And I went, oh, maybe the Giants can get off to week one. And then I'm like, for preseason. I'm like, suspended for a preseason. I know. Thank you for the convenience. Well, to be, to be fair, if you didn't see the news on Antonio Callaway, wide receiver from the Cleveland Browns.
His punishment was to play in the preseason. Was to play the entire preseason game. Yeah. Number four. Julio Jones. Jason has him at number two, and I got no problem with somebody putting him there. Listen, 2012, he was the 11th best whiteout, injured in 2013, and has finished since then, eighth, second, sixth, and fourth. And despite the kind of...
mindset that people have about Julio always hobbled. He's played 15 games, 16 games, 14 games, 16 games. He finds his way out on the field. And last year, 88 receptions for 1,44 yards on 149 targets. Now, just three touchdowns. That has positive regression written all over it. I think he could be a double digit touchdown guy this year. Completely agree. I mean, the touchdowns are the real thing here.
Julio is an unfathomable talent. You just read, he's always, I can't even fathom him. I know. You just read how he is always, you know, one of the top fantasy producing wide receivers. And then you look at last season, first year with Sarkesian, and there's this weird outlier, 18 red zone targets, 10 targets inside the 10 zone. And only three touchdowns. Yeah, from, from those inside the 20 and inside the 10, I only see two touchdowns. So one of us.
One of us is right, but very few touchdowns from that. That's an outlier. I'm saying he only had three touchdowns on the season. Oh, on the season. Right. Okay. Yes. But from all those targets inside the 10, inside the 20, I mean, you should expect. And the thing is, a lot of people say, well, that's, that's Julio, right? He doesn't score a lot of touchdowns. He gives you the yards. It doesn't have to be. It doesn't have to be. It doesn't have to be 10 touchdowns before, eight touchdowns before. You know, if he gets up, even if he doesn't get to double digits, he gets up.
eight touchdowns. He's going to finish as the wide receiver too. So I love Julio this year. I've said all along, I think that the Falcons offense is going to be very good for fantasy this season. Number five. Keenan Allen coming in at number five on our consensus rankings. Ivan 5, Jason 5, Mike 7. His average draft position right now is 205. So he's in that prime position where if you grab a nice running back in the first round, you can scoop up Keenan Allen.
It's called a delight. Yeah, well, last year, delight. Yeah, 102 receptions. PPR machine, 1,393 yards and six touchdowns on 159 targets. He is the go-to guy for Philip Rivers. He makes this offense move. He makes Philip Rivers relevant for fantasy football owners. He was targeted 24 times on plays in the red zone in 2017. That is the most among fantasy-wide receivers. And he ended the year on absolute fire, just molten lava hot.
Yes. Towards the end of the year, including Week 17, the number one. So if you were stuck playing in that torturous championship game, hopefully had Kenan Allen. Number three, Fantasy White out last season. The story for Keenan Allen has been the history of injury. Last year, he proved that he could play and he could play each and every game. So nothing to not like about Keenan Allen, right? It's just about will the team realize that the second half of the year?
That's the utilization that you need for Keenan Allen because during the first half of the season, he had a couple good games, but he was inconsistent and had some games where he really hurt your fantasy lineup of it. Three games inside of the first seven weeks where he finished his wide receiver 40 or lower. That's not going to get it done. It was like a stock that you...
bought into before the season, Mike. And then you were like... And then it crashed. And it started to crash and like, do I sell this stock? Like, is it going to go up? Like, you had to hold true... You did. To what you believed about Keenan Allen. And to your credit, you did that last year and paid some dividends. Yes. I love Keenan Allen. I think that the unfortunate injury to Hunter Henry...
