The playoff episode turns a bizarre rushing-touchdown scoring dispute into a lesson about probability, luck and fantasy-league rules.
That's, he didn't have a great game. Woody Marks left the Texans game after his fumble recovery. That's all he wanted to do. Yeah, well, he's like, I got the touchdown for fantasy managers. They'll be happy. I know. And then it's like, no, he didn't. It's good news that they said he could have come back in the game, which is devastating news for those of you who played. Yeah, D'Amico Ryans, that's kind of just, you're just salting the wound there because Woody Marks would have. dominated. Oh, the backups dominated. Was Jordan? You can blame the Cardinals for getting up 40 points and making Woody Marks, not needed. It was a great start of the week who unfortunately did score, might not have scored for you, and could have played, but didn't play because they didn't need him anymore. The, I mean, moments after I said Devin Neal was what Kendra Miller couldn't be, because Kendry Miller would have been killing in this situation for the Saints. Devin Neal left with a hamstring injury just like.
Kendra Miller would have. And then Devon Vele also left early. Which Evan Hull and Adrick Estime are the running backs who are currently left for the Saints. They keep competing. Did you see the comments from Chase Young about Tyler Shuck? Oh, dude, Tyler Shuck was a, I mean, he laid it all out. He'd sacrificed his body to give that win. That was awesome. What an idiotic play on the defense. It's insane. Like you basically, there's one thing you can't do. Hit the sliding quarterback. Hit the sliding quarterback. If you don't do that, you're going to win. 24 for 32, 304 yards, one touchdown. He had already. Clutch performances and then Chase Young. I mean, he came out and he said, Tyler Shuck, he's like, he's starting to look like that guy. Yeah. Because he had gotten banged up earlier in the game. Like he was, he was hurting. And he played through and then, I mean, saves the day with.
was allowing a defender to just crush him on the ground that then turns into the field goal. I'm liking what I've seen from Scho. I am too. I mean, I said that from that first game where they got blown out by the Rams and I went back and I watched. I was like, he was good. He played well. They're three and three in his six starts. With a dropped a Lave touchdown that would have put him in four and two. Yeah. And would have helped the Cardinals draft pick. Well, and thankfully, this win helped the Cardinals draft pick. And it helped Tyler Shuck have a job.
It helped him have a job because this probably, I mean, they're at four wins now, so they're almost, they're definitely not going to mean like the top five or six picks. And they could win another game or two down the stretch with Shuck. And then they'll be outside of where you have to draft a quarterback. Yeah, I think, I think he's playing himself into a starting job for the future, which is, that's fun. That's cool. Yeah. It's good. They're right now picking seventh. So. Saints, Washington, and Cincinnati are all tied at four wins. Bayshall Toot and left with a finger injury. Was that you, Jason? I just gave him a good handshake. What are you talking about? Dude, Travis E.T.N. has been dominating. Like the last month, it's been craziness. I mean, these were what Trevor Lawrence was five passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown? Yeah. That's insane. Yeah, my prize picks was one and a half.
Passing touchdowns for Trevor Lawrence. You think I got that in like the first five minutes or so. Four and a half, you should have taken the over. Yeah. Wow. I didn't realize this. Looking at Travis E.T. Yes. Since the by week, which was a while ago, it was right in the middle of the season. He had one bad week against Tennessee and he has been a top 12 back every single week. Yeah, I mean, they're like without overstating it and without failing to acknowledge that Trevor Lawrence can be Jekyll and Hyde. They look like a contender to me. Yeah. You have a defense that is strong. You have an offense that once they had a Jacoby Myers, and now they got Brian Thomas Jr. back, they seem formidable. Mm-hmm. Well, and Trevor... Something's different. Something is different with Trevor Lawrence right now. Liam Cohen is near the Gus Bradley level of wins for that franchise already. He is Trevor Lawrence and Kyler Murray. I put those guys...
I synced them together so much in my mind at the beginning of the season, even before the season, where it's like these are above average quarterbacks who can play in the NFL, but they're so inconsistent and sometimes disappear. Oh, get ready, though. Well, right. I mean, it could happen, but really. Denver next week. Recently, it's very impressive. Lawrence is, I think the biggest thing he has been bad at is consistency, and he's been consistent. So, yeah, I mean, the test is coming this week in Denver. I just want to remind you, Jason, as we. are likely to face off in the League of Record semis. That Travis E.T.M. will be on the road against Denver and Bijan Robinson will be playing Arizona. Next. Moving on. Moving on. I was aware of that. Hey, can you remind me who Josh Jacobs played this last week? Oh, okay. And where he played? Okay. Was it in Denver? That starts. Against Denver? Here we go. Okay. Here we go. Travis E.T. ain't scared? Yeah, he is.
I'm scared. He's not scared. He's a man. I'm a coward. That was news and notes. Sponsored by Progressive Insurance quote today at progressive.com. Is it going to be safe to be in the studio next week? No. If you two are facing off? No, you're going to, we're going to need to switch seats. Can't be next to this guy. Have you ever faced off with each other in the semis? I don't know. No, I don't think so. To go to the title thing? No, I don't think so. Yeah. So is that the way it looks seating wise that you guys are going to flip to where I play Josh? But are you going to play each other in the dynasty league too? No, he lost. Whoa, whoa, whoa. If somehow Jalen Warren doesn't get a point, doesn't end. Does he have a backup? I got to go. This Jalen Warren. Don't tell him. Don't tell him backups exist. Yeah.
I mean, it's a dynasty league, so a backup would have to be on his team. And the other thing that could happen in our League of Record, if Waddle scores 22 points tonight. Currently, no, he does. I don't think there's anything he can do. Fantastic. Holy. In the League of Record, if Waddle scores 22, I'll play against Papa Josh, otherwise I'm playing against Mike. And that does mean right now, you know, assuming H.N. doesn't give 40 plus points. Three of the four people left are in the studio. So we've got a good chance keeping that trophy here. Oh, boy. Let's talk studs. This week's fantasy stud muffins presented by Lowe's. Trevor Lawrence, 44.3 points, Bo Nix at 29. Trevor Lawrence, stream of the week. Bo Nix against Green Bay, big performance. That one also. No, Pat Bryant. Got him out of the way, Mike. The, uh, Joe Burrell, very, very surprising in the negative way. Bo Nix, very surprising in the other direction.
Kirk Cousins, Brock Pardy, Jared Gough, your next three. That's right. Kirk Cousins, number three on the week. Thank you, Kyle. Brock Pardy, big performance. 23 for 30, 295, and three for Brock Pardy against Tennessee. It's funny because I was upset. We told, you know, we have been the most pro Jacoby Percet group as far as fantasy, telling him he's not a streamer anymore. You've got to start him every single week. We told you this last week, like, I wouldn't play him this week. But thankfully, it was scary. The two names that we said most, you know, that was like if Purdy or Trevor Lawrence is out there, I'd play him ahead. Hey, it worked out because those guys were awesome. Um, Jacoby Resett is sitting at 12 on the week. Wow. I mean, he had three touchdowns, right? He did. He did. I thought he'd be hiring it. Somehow sitting at 12, which means the streak, his streak is top 12 performances. But then Houston streak is not giving up a top 12.
And we still got Monday Night Football games tonight to see if somebody can pass Jacoby. But, yeah, there were some performances that took a while, I'd say. Josh Allen took a while. Matthew Stafford took a while. Jackson Dart definitely took a while. Yeah, it did. That one was not looking good for quite some time. C.J. Stroud found Nico on the opening possession, and then... Kept it going. Three touchdowns, no picks. Jason's stream of the week. J.J. McCarthy. Your stream of the week, which was, I mean. That's 250 and two of the rushing touchdown. Yeah. Best game he's played. He, he looked great when he wasn't throwing to Justin Jefferson. What's with him a nailer, man? I don't know. I mean, look, that's step one. Because, like, as of the game in Washington, it was like, he can't throw to the wide receiver position. It just has to go to the tight end. Okay. Maybe some wide receiver. It's possible.
i mean we had adison had a little at two right and then addison had that huge bomb almost scored jefferson did score if you if you didn't get to watch the game jefferson did score a touchdown and it got called back and then he dropped the touchdown right yes yeah so yeah i mean he literally should have had two and and the the Again, these illegal formation things where it's like, this guy wasn't covered and he didn't report eligible. And it's like they had no effect on the play. But man, McCarthy had some laser beams in that game. I don't know if it's going to work. I still don't know if it's going to work based on. He dropped one of the laser beams. The McCarthy playing against essentially two of the best matchups for a quarterback who needs to get his confidence back. Let's see. What do we got rest of season? We got.
The Giants coming up. That's another game that McCarthy could boost his confidence. But then you get Detroit and Green Bay. There was a reason you traded for Jefferson for the stretch run. Yes. The schedule was great. Who plays more, who starts more games in the NFL in their career? J.J. McCarthy or Tyler Shuck. Interesting. Wow. Wow. I'll say McCarthy. I think he's got the team around him. I lean that way a little bit too. And I mean, dude, that greedy as he was running for a touchdown? That took away some games for me. What? Oh, man. You, uh, the juxtaposition of how absolute butt he's been with. I was actually, your team is fired up from that. I was actually happy. I was actually happy that he had the face from the meme on that he, I was actually happy that he had that attitude.
considering how but he's been because you can't have him stop believing in himself. That's the beginning of the end. Yeah, I don't know. I think just running into the end zone and score touchdown. Running backs on the week, James Cook, 30 points. A firm hands. Yeah. O'Connell. Just hand a ball to the ref. Act like you've been there before. Can't stand these touchdown dances. Who am I talking to you today? You're talking to some young hip people. O'Connell hated it. Oh, O'Connell. His players loved it. Oh, my gosh. His teammates loved it. My gosh. You must love nine then. You must love the nine nickname. No. No, you do. There's a line. There's a line. No. It's fun. No. It's fun. You love it. No, I love that. I love the, uh, the gritty. No, you have to call him nine. James Cook at 30, Travis, T, and at 30, Trevion at 25. Tracy at 23. That's Tyrone Tracy.
As opposed to... Well, just Tracy is more identity. Dick, Tracy? Who knows? You know, I just wanted to make you. No, I want to know who you were clarifying for. No, it was just because Tyrone and Tracy is not someone that everyone started. I don't think... I think people out there are like, wait, who's Tracy? Well, why didn't you say Jr.? We might have thought it was his dad? Tyrone Tracy Jr., thank you. Thank you for the correction. I'm just trying to help people know who scored fantasy points. Forgive me. Tyrone Tracy Jr. Running back for the Giants number 29.
Number five on the week. That one, the, no, he had the injury two weeks ago. I got this one wrong. I thought Singletary would have been the better option here, but Tyrone and Tracy looked, he looked good. He got it done. So did James Cook, and we know Jason started the week, Travis E.TN. I feel like Jason willed it into existence here. He was 12 for 32 on the ground. Just to be clear. Yeah, it was all. Amazing performance because of the receiving game. Three for. 73 and 3 in the receiving game. Chavion Henderson is averaging 18.8 ppr points per game since week 8. He's so good. He's that guy. And the thing is, is I think that they are doing a good job with Ramandre. Remandre was absolutely great in the beginning of this game. He still ended up six for 50. He averaged eight a carry.
And then Trayvion ends up with the two monster touchdowns because you can't catch him. Yeah, he's so fast. Having Ramandre, I think Remandre ran more routes than Henderson. That's a little weird to me, but this was better in terms of workload. Yeah, the last two weeks, Remandre three catches on three targets, both weeks. My argument has never been that Remandre... shouldn't ever take snaps. I mean, the snaps were up at 67% for him. He's gone from 31 to 58 to 67, but they made the most. Travion just made the most of his touches. You need to give him enough opportunities so he can break. I mean, he had 14 cares. Yeah, he did. Remandre was six carries. Yeah. Like that's the carries versus the snaps. That's what it needs to be is Henderson has to touch the ball 15 or more times a game because your chance of at least one of those turning into a.
gigantic play, like a momentum shifting play. So fabulous, fabulous stuff. I like it working here at the end of the year. Josh Jacobs, two touchdowns, including an incredible receiving touchdown. Yes, Masta guy. Had to tell the coaching stuff to leave him on the field. Oh, yeah. I mean, part of the game. They were trying to call him off. He's banged up. He's hurt. He's playing through injuries. And he is, he wants to be on that field every play. And I love it. DeAndre Swift, DeAndre Swift ended up with, I think, the largest rushing percentage that he's had in a while. 18 for 98 and 2, quietly the running back 14 on the year. That's crazy. I mean, you look at his entire career. Not a good day from a nun guy. You look at DeAndre Swift's career, and he has never been outside the top 24 running backs.
Never been inside the top 12. He is what he is. You have Kyron, two more rushing touchdowns. Corum had a career high, 46% of snaps in this game and played well. But he had one rushing touchdown opportunity. He didn't get it. Cairn, it took over. Tony Pollard decided to run for 100 again. Corum did have a touchdown. Oh, did he? Yeah. Yeah. Tony Pollard, what is going on here? Where has this been? Well, they've been scoring points the last two weeks. Might be corollary. Could. Could be causation that Tony Pollard is getting it done. Sequan Barclay 22 for 78 and 1. JCM was 18 for 96 with the Chris Rodriguez start of the week. That sucks. Rodriguez ruled out late. JCM took over and then dominated. The next week is Philly. Really sad. Thank you, Bill. You guys. Yeah, I'll give it to him now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I think I think Rodriguez would have been dominant. Awesome. Dominant.
CMC and Giovante has well gotten to the end zone. We will take a break and talk about wide receivers. Do I need to wait? I just saw that Christian McCaffrey's on Monday night football. That means that Mike and I is a matchup. Would be CMC versus Johnny Taylor on Monday. Johnny Taylor versus CMC and George Kittle on Monday night football. That's fun. Hoof. Hoofta. With a career high in yardage, I believe, 180 or so. I don't think he even scored, right? Puka is just a machine. How is he that good? What is he doing? What is he doing different than everybody else? He's so strong. I saw PFF talking about how he is currently with what was four games to go or something. He has the most contested catch opportunities ever. and he's caught almost all of them. He is so strong, so tough. He is not afraid of contact in any way, shape, or form. He literally got pulled off the field because the dude was cramping up. He had cramps. And then he came back out like a play later and they just, they called a running play for him. It was like, like, you know this guy. It's like at his end. He's cramping up. He's cramping up. Like, jet sweep. Give him the ball. It's like, wow.
If he dies, he dies. That's what it felt like. I was just like mind-blown. He's a tough dude. James nine targets, seven for 134 and one. Jamo inside the top 10, four of the last six weeks. When did Guns Mahoney take the play calling? I think it was week nine. Jameson William. Weird. I mean, he had a very outlier play called back Goose. Against the Giants. Against the Giants. But 1420, 1723, 1323, the wide receiver 8. If you haven't been paying attention to Jameson Williams, when the year started so poorly for him, Andy, he was one of your my guys this year. And it was a fail. It was like, oh, well, dang, I can't believe I made him on my guy. Through seven weeks. But on the course of the season, including all the bad stuff in the beginning, he's the eighth.
highest scoring wide receiver in the NFL right now for fantasy. It's crazy. It's insane. It's crazy. And he's, he's going to finish the year as a wide receiver won. Yeah. Yeah, which, I mean, so will all monroe. They'll be together inside the top 10. It's, it was a great performance again. I wonder what they play calling. When did, when did the, when did that, that obviously helped consolidate things? It did. Yeah, it was a lot. It was a lot of things. It was playing out since week 11. Week 10 was his last game. I mean, the, um, The target, if you want to look pre and post buy, he's on pace for 72 targets before the buy. He's on pace for 124 targets after the buy. He's on pace for 700 yards before the buy. He's on pace for 1,571 yards after the buy. Double-digit touchdowns. It's been a complete change. And this is part of, like, we've had this many times. We've done the show 11 years. We've had whatever that is, 33 my guys each.
it's a bet on the talent, but you, I mean, without opportunity, a guy can't get it done. I mean, DJ Moore, I think was a, my guy at one point in time for one of us. And it was like, well, I mean, this year is kind of, that's been the narrative. It's like, Trayvion Henderson. Opportunity. They wouldn't give him touches in the first half. He did it. In week eight, take a Mario Super Mushroom, and all of a sudden, he's great at football. No, he always was. He took injuries, remember? It wouldn't have happened. For both guys. Yeah. Yeah, it wouldn't happen without injuries ahead of them. Yeah, but Trevo and James and Williams, Mike and I were not feeling good. No, not feeling good. Not feeling good. A lot better now. Feeling great. Nico Collins, two touchdowns. Three for 85 on this one. DJ Moore with a, DJ Moore had two touchdowns, including one.
that if you watch it over and over, you don't understand it. You could have every angle of this touchdown reception and you'll have no idea how it worked. It was an MC Escher painting. Yes. It didn't make any sense. He threw it. Are you going up or down the stairs? He threw it through two guys. Yeah, the ball went through two defender bodies. And then I didn't see DJ Moore catch it, but he had the ball. You did have it at the end. It's like he had it in his shirt. And he just like, oh, here it is. Yeah, Corlin Sutton got it done. Seven to one, 13 and one. And so did Troy Franklin. Oh, man. Pat Bryant would have dominated. Do you think a head coach could go out to like, who David Copperfield, David Blink, just to some magician and say, illusionist, Jason, thank you, an illusionist. And figure out a way. Jason, who just what about like the ultimate trick play? The ball disappears. Jason. And then.
The guy's 10 yards down the field and whoops, the balls right here. That would be amazing. What are the rules? There's no NFL rules against this. I won't argue. If all of a sudden the play and everyone's looking around for the ball, no one can find the ball. Listen, I think if they could secretly get the ball down the field, they'd be doing it, man. They have not contacted the right illusionist. The, uh, J.G. McCarthy play was as close as you can get to that. Man, that just. Yeah. That looked like the ball was. I want the camera. I want the camera to be.
panning and like I don't think you're in your jersey like you're pregnant where is the ball it's in the end zone if anyone could do it it's David Blaine that's you would you would vomit out the football if you're like what yeah unfold it and it just yeah every ref would be holding their flag like do I throw what do I call these are the kind of ideas we get when you win do yeah I mean my two best ideas ever is the yow ming idea i'm telling you it would work that probably came after a win and the and the illusionist you want yeah you want a seven seven tight in yeah just go four yards out put your hands up really high grab it and fall down do that 100% of plays that player will be chopped down on catch three and never play again the only one way to find out like so if you're seven seven what's your wingspan are you supposed to be seven seven seven
it could be a bit longer it could be so but i mean like seven feet oh no um that you would have real real short like but dunking is a 10 foot hoop which means that all those guys could easily jump up and get the ball right yes to seven okay actually i'm discouraged by this math no because i thought your plan was good no no you those those cornerbacks those NFL cornerbacks could not get the ball away but they will They will cut his legs down. But he's going to practice. He couldn't play basketball. He's going to practice grabbing and falling. It'll be one motion. Also, they're going to do the math on the amount of money they would make in the NBA versus the NFL. You'll start having like freaking 7-7 dBs to cover him. Our corner runs a 6.540. Oh my God. But he's eight feet tall. This is so stupid. This is so stupid.
Jamar Chase, 16 targets, 10 for 132. Yeah, somehow Jamar Chase came out okay while Joe Burrow was just poop. Olav. How many yards did Burrow have? It can't be much more than that. It wasn't good. He had a turnover. 2.25. Man. Six for 185 and one. Quietly, the wide receiver 10 on the season. He was having a disappearing act. for the majority of game. Thanks, Mike. But he has, look, in the Tyler Shuck games, the last six games, I mean, this is a good player. Kyle Pitts, Trey McBride, Dallas Goddard, Colby Parkinson, George Kittle. It cannot be understated how good Trey McBride has been. He was 12 for 1, 34, and 2.
