He won't try him, but it'll disparage him. All right, Sammy Watkins at number 14. We've got 95 targets last year. I will not back down from my contention that Sammy Watkins will not be able to compete with the top tier wide receivers from a, I don't care how many bombs you can attempt to catch. If you have 60 receptions, you're not going to get it done. He's a great, great player.

that is competing in an offense that likes to run the ball. Yeah, yeah, they do. But you can look at, there was a clear shift. Look, Sammy Watkins came out. He decided he was going to be the squeaky wheel. And he said, if you want me to be a top wide receiver, you need to give me the ball. And there was reports of him sitting down on the aeroplane with Tyrod Taylor, who is now his quarterback, Tyrod Taylor,

And from weeks 8 through 17, Sammy Watkins was the number five wide receiver for fantasy above your beloved Julio Jones. Yep. So to say he can't do it, I think is clearly unreasonable. But the reality that we have to... No, I'm saying he won't. Right. Sure. When we project, long bomb touchdowns, that is...

the least predictable type of, you know, we can't just assume that those kinds. Yeah, Jordy went from 13 to, what, three, one year. I mean, Jordy was that kind of guy as well. Yes. I mean, Hardy, sorry, sorry. But it's not just, it's not just the bomb touchdowns for me. If you look at the target trend for Sammy Watkins, up through the first half of the season, he wasn't, he didn't even hit double digits in targets. And then in the second half of the year, he has.

He has a game of 10 targets, 12, 10, finishes out the year with 15 targets. I think that they, I think there was a very distinct change that they said, okay, we're a running team, but we also need to get Sammy Watkins the ball, a guy that we traded our first round pick, or a future first, to move up a couple spots to claim him in the draft. And combine that, his dynamic talent.

I think Tyrod Taylor is a good quarterback. I think there's, to say he won't, I think is a bit hyperbolic. I think there is a very, very realistic situation where Sammy Watkins is, I'll put it at top eight. Top eight. I agree. I'm not going to call him a top three guy, but top eight. He's in the category of Keenan Allen to me where I'd love to have him as a two, not a one. That's fair. I mean, he's close, and he's going to give you these boom games, but.

I'm just, I haven't seen the consistency yet from, you know, look at Ryan.

You know, Rex, I just don't know if he's going to commit to it. Well, right now, Sammy Watkins, all this debate back and forth as to whether or not he can be the top five, top eight type of guy, which I definitely think he can be top eight, and I think he will be a wide receiver one this year. He's going in the third round behind Kelvin Benjamin, you know, just ahead of Randall Cobb and Jarvis Landry. Sammy Watkins is a much better talent than those guys.

and I would draft him over them 10 out of 10 times. Yeah, I agree with you. Brandon Cooks at number 15 to round out our wide receiver top 15 today. You know, do we have a lot to say about Brandon Cooks? I don't think there's a ton to say. Other than the fact we kind of just think he'll end up here. Yeah, it's Drew Breeze to me. Drew Breeze is leading Brandon Cooks. I know there are a, there's plenty of people out there who love Brandon Cooks. They firmly believe.

believe in him i i just when i watch when i watch brandy cooks i just i can't fully buy in and maybe that's a ridiculous thing of me maybe i maybe i should buy in i'll need i'll go back and i'll look at some more brandon cooks he because he's a guy that a lot of a lot of fantasy people out there are paying to be this year's explosive guy to make the big tier jump but

For Brandon Cooks, you want to talk about a consistency problem. For the first half of the year, he was not good. And maybe that completely linked up with Drew Breeze and his shoulder problem in the offense of New Orleans. Didn't you just make an argument about the first half of the year being bad for Watkins being irrelevant? Well, that was a shift in, in, that was a very specific event. I'm trying to make the argument for Cooks. I'm trying to talk through both sides of it.

But when it comes to the end, I just can't come. I cannot firmly buy into Brandon Cooks as a stud. I think anybody would want the number one target for a high passing Drew Breeze-led offense. That will be Brandon Cooks. The question is just a question of value. You know, if you look at last year, yeah, he was the number one target with 129 targets on the team. But then.

You know, Ben Watson was right behind him with 110. Willie Sneed was over 100 targets. You're not talking about a huge gap between, you know, targets on the field, but, you know, Willie Sneed's being drafted in the, you know, double-digit rounds. Brandon Cooks is T.Y. Hilton. People had the same problem getting on board with T.Y. Hilton. They're the exact same size. That's fair. Same type of player. It's just like John Brown, too. They're all the same. They're the same guy where you look at them and you say, is he really?

because of the size, because of the way they're utilized, is he really able to be a one? That's what people say about him. I mean, him and Hilton are perfect comparisons to me because... Super speedy. For years. And the same argument. You just said, you want the number one guy in a Drew Brees led offense. You want the number one guy in an Andrew Luck led offense. It's true. And I think both guys are probably, probably deserve more credit than less because they're doing it with a different, you know...

physique than some of these top tier guys, but they're dynamic weapons. They can still, they score in different ways. They score on a 15-yard in route that they take to the house as opposed to a jump ball in the back of the end zone. So I think Cooks deserves credit. I think you do put a lot of the confidence in the quarterback for both Hilton and Cooks, and we'll get into Hilton on the next show as well as the next, I don't know, 10 to 15 wide receivers. How many times do you think Brandon Cooks went over 100 yards?

That's a really good question because I, who last year he had, last year he had over 1,100 yards, 84 receptions. I would say he probably went over 100 yards five times. Jason, do you want to get in on this? I'm going to say, I know he had some monster games, so that would, that would skewed. I'm going to say four times. Four times. Yeah. So it's, I don't have, Cooks. Cooks is very, very baffling to me.

Well, he's still our consensus 15. Oh, yeah. So we're not crazy down on him. He's ranking up ahead of Hilton and Michael Floyd and Edelman and those guys. So that is it for our top 15.
